From ...taking his mom to see ND, OSU and Michigan in a few weeks. Has narrowed his list to Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan and Florida. |

Have not heard an ND lean publicly stated - though you could argue that makes for a good fit. Until a firm lean is indicated in a publicly available article I won't despair at the Buckeyes chances, though it is clear Floyd has many choices in front of him. Thus, I think no team on his short list is out of it and any leans based on IrishEyes or similar info demand a grain of salt.
Besides which, given the limited scholarships this year, if Floyd did commit elsewhere, even say Minnesota, there is still one other highly rated, tall and speedy WR that could pair up with the already committed Posey in this class. He is from Glenville. |

I also think he's going to wind up at either ND or Minnesota.
I think a realistic best guess Top 5 for him would be ND, Minny, UM, OSU, and Florida. Those are the 5 schools that keep popping up on his list when you look at the updates. UM is going hard after Baldwin/Stonum/Smith at WR. I think Floyd is a little down the list in terms of their wish-list. OSU, you all have what, 13 scholarships? 9 of them are already taken up and you already have two WR's in Posey and Stoney and we all know Scott is going to commit to OSU as well. That leaves just Florida, and I think a school that far away is always kind of a longshot. |

Just a feeling but I think he's ND bound. He's the type of receiver they need and it's not as far as Florida. Though Urban Meyer could talk him into the gators. Isn't Osu promarily going after Cordale Scott? Just another recruit for ND fans to possibly gloat about.

On one of the ND podcasters I listen to - and this is all after the fact, something I heard about a week or two ago - said that Floyd and fellow WR recruit Dan Buckner apparently hit it off in a big way. They were even hanging out together & such (reminds me a lot of how some of the OSU recruits have become close friends). It looked like they were going to be a package deal, probably for the Irish. Both Buckner and Floyd were pretty hefty ND leans - Buckner was even telling guys at one of the combines/camps he went to that he was going to verbal to ND within a couple weeks. Soon after, Mack Brown swooped in and locked up Buckner as a Longhorn at the last minute. Hence, the supposed package deal was broken up, because there is no interest between Floyd and Texas. Take that story FWIW. It comes from an ND source, but its not like him telling this to us ND fans in the middle of June is him drinking the cool-aid, or that it does a whole lot to make ND fans feel good now. Hearing that our meal ticket to a Floyd verbal will stay in Texas isn't exactly exciting news for Irish fans, 'cause it means we're going to have to sell him on ND more than before. Since that time, I've heard Floyd's tone and approach change. While he still had good things to say about certain schools, he started to cool off his tone across the board. His responses about everyone became much more generic. A lot more, "I have no favorites at this time, I'm thoroughly looking into all the schools on my list before I whittle the field down," etc etc. Personally, I still think he's an ND lean. Not as strong as before, but thats just my opinion, little more than that. It'll depend on how hard he's recruited, but Michigan, Minnesota, OSU, and Florida all look to have decent shots at him. |

6/11 From the Minny site...will be making a trip to Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, and then back to Notre Dame. Also will visit Minnesota and Florida. Claims no favorite. Still would be shocked to see him anywhere but ND... |
