Do you guys expect to get Floyd or do you consider him to be a Domer?I personally believe he's ND's.

We're running 2nd behind ND right now, but it's a closer 2nd then most believe... He was rumored to be an ND silent recently that was going to announce this month, but now it looks like he wants to wait and take some officials and see how some team's seasons go...

Which is a strict no-no if you are a silent verbal to ND...no visits or no offer.

Cretin-Derham Hall star wide receiver Michael Floyd has narrowed his final list of potential colleges to five and he's no longer going to do interviews about recruiting until after his senior season.

Cretin-Derham Hall star wide receiver Michael Floyd has narrowed his final list of potential colleges to five and he's no longer going to do interviews about recruiting until after his senior season.Floyd contacted the Star Tribune on Friday evening to deliver that message. Floyd said his final five schools are Minnesota, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State and Florida.

He mentions wanting to wait to see how Minnesota fares (probably not too well), but it also makes me wonder what would happen if Notre Dame laid an egg.

He would have to take into account that ND hasn't had a first round receiver in forever. I can't even remember the last one. And OSU has had 3 just in the last 2 years. If ND was to go 5-7 or something it might make him reconsider and go with OSU.

It is true that tOSU is wide receiver U these days.
Last major ND name chosen in the first round at Wide Receiver was Tim Brown that I can recall (1988).
Countervailing argument of course is that now that Weis has the reins their offense is once again more pass happy. Jeff (I prefer baseball) Samardzija was projected as a high draft pick and that adds a little to the perceived potential.

Wasn't Stovall a realativly high pick? Not that it matters the point is still spot on. They haven't turned out a big name WR since Tim Brown that I can remember.

Nice research, thanks. That is an astoundingly bad track record of producing guys at the position. With no talent this year at WR, they will be up to 20 years without a first round WR. I know our staff doesn't do much negative recruitng, but they should really make him aware of this.

I'm guessing OSU has had about 10 during this time. Off the top of my head: Galloway, Glenn, Boston, Jenkins, Holmes, Ginn, Gonzo just in the last 12 years and I am sure I am forgetting some. Gamble played some WR here, so you could maybe add him to the list.
