Say we offer Jake (he accepts) & then K. Tate & M. Floyd decide they want to hop on board (which you don't say no to). Now in a small class with only 15-16 schollies to hand out, you now have 3 big receiver types. I know we need at least one, but in a class that small, 3 is way too many. If Stoneburner gets an offer, it will be later on down the road after some of the other priority kids decide (and after camp). He is a big Bucks fan and won't decide early IMO.

That being said, if you watch Rudolph's film it is pretty clear as to why the staff has offered. This kid is no project. He is complete and rather well-developed in all aspects of the game for a junior. Also, his 6'7" frame and leaping ability would pose an enormous threat to redzone defenses.

Surprisingly good year for TEs in Ohio. Too bad we'll probably only take/want/need one.

Kyle probably has the most potential of the three and is a better blocker at this stage than Stoneburner. Jake could end up at WR instead of TE. DiLillo lacks some of the athleticism the other two have. Moore is another great prospect who I would probably say is the closets to Rudolph as far as pure TE talent goes in Ohio. I don't think it is fair to lump Jake and Kyle into the same category at this point...Jake is faster but Kyle has the frame to be an OSU-sized TE.
I just wanted to see what he did that seperated him from the other 2 since I can't see his video yet. And from what I've seen from the other 2 prospects he must be pretty good. I don't have all the resources the coaches have but when you see a video of someone that gives you an idea on about 10 different qualities each prospect has not just the 40 time and height. Since the 2 videos I saw showed good recieveing and no blocking, I don't have a complete analysis. I more or less wanted to see if he was going to primarily be a field stretcher/reciever or primarily a blocker. Because OSU hasn't had a field stretching TE since Louis Irizarry (would have liked to see him work out), but I'd love to see more variety out of our TE position as we can always bring in blocking TEs but field stretchers are harder to get. Just want to see OSU maximize its recieveing threats. Thanks for the breakdown of Rudolph.

1) Elder's passing game/system uses the TE a lot. Rudy catches a lot more than 1 or 2 balls a game.

2) Elder has produced two NCAA D1 players that played TE in their current system. (Colin and Craig Carrey at UC...both also played QB at Elder and were both athletic enough to stick at QB in Clifton)

3) Don't be fooled by by 2 tenths of a second in Rudy's 40 time...he can run as well as the other guys, has better feet and quick hands that allow him to get of the line of scrimmage almost effortlessly.

I like all of the TE prospects in Ohio...but I have zero problem with Kyle Rudolph being the first with an offer. I've seen him play and I have watched him run crisp routes when the play wasn't even designed for him...and I have seen him fly past safeties to catch 60 yard TD passes.

I want him in Scarlet and Gray as bad as I want Fred Craig from X in Scarlet and Gray.

Double ditto...I want Rudolph really bad and Craig is a great player who I would love to see get an OSU offer.

I seem to remember Jenkins getting a few jump balls... Hall had a few as well (but was unlucky in the WR talent he played with). Your never prediction will probably be about as accurate. Not sure why you want OSU to throw jump balls to Holmes, Ginn, Gonzo, Gamble. It's not like Braylon clones have been wasting on the bench... hopefully Lyons can get healthy and add that element to our offense.
