Zordich is gone to Penn State.

I think this has to do with two big things. #1, we have the #1 LB we wanted and are sitting good with Hale (I think Filer is still a possiblity). #2, the limited schollies and LB not being a "need" this offseason.

I also think it has to do with getting Sweat but I know that I was never blown away by Wilson. He could play TE but we have Stoney and look decent for Koger as of now. He could play FB but with so few schollies, why give one to a FB this year? He can play LB and as alluded to by OSU4life, we have our #1 guy with Sweat and look great for Hale. Apart from Hale, Filer is a possbility and I sure wouldn't be disappointed with Beachum or Staples if we just really need a LB (which I don't think we are in dire need of). I have absolutely no problem with moving on to other options.

It could have more to do with a kid over-estimating a school's initial level of interest....

also, about Wilson, I've heard alot of PA guys say they don't think he would cut it at LB'er. Not because of a lack of athletic ability- the kid has boatloads of that- but because of a lack of insticts for the position and a lack of desire on defense. To play defense (especially LB'er) you've got to want to hit people and get down and dirty and take on blocks head on. PA guys are saying he's a tad bit overrated and that his rating comes from his skills as an athlete and not a football player. Most say that he'll have to play RB or H-back in college, because he's just not an overly physical player and the desire to play defense just isn't there.

You notice that Wilson is rated 10th in PA, at best, despite having more offers than anybody but Pryor. That tells me that while colleges look at him as having potential, the locals find him a bit overrated.

Agree with this. Like I said I think his ratings are based off of his athletic ability and not his on-the field performance. The services are obsessed with kids who are great athletes who can project at multiple positions.

To be fair, the same can be said of college coaches or he wouldn't have almost 50 offers. I think they see what he is physically and will take a shot at him, but those in the know say he is not nearly as good as a football player as his physical attributes would make you believe. Some of these types of prospects finally get it and turn out great and the rest are just great athletes who can't play football.

Montour senior linebacker Christian Wilson is a busy 16 year old.
The four-star prospect, who has 49 scholarship offers, said he fields between 100 and 200 text messages every day from college coaches. He's taken unofficial visits to 17 schools, with that number rising.

Lately, he's been trying to narrow his list of schools.

"I probably have around 10 schools that are still on there," said the 6-foot-2, 235-pound Wilson, who will turn 17 on July 12. "Some are out because they are (far away), like Arkansas and Arizona. The school the farthest that I like is nine, 10 hours away, and that's Clemson. I also like Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Louisville, Rutgers, Boston College. A couple other schools are still in there like Virginia, but they are kind of deep (at linebacker). Still, I kept them in and a couple other schools are the same way.

"So far, probably Clemson is the one that I liked the most and then North Carolina."
Clemson is one of a few schools recruiting Wilson to play running back and linebacker. Wilson said he would like to have a final four -- two schools that want him for offense and two for defense -- before he makes a decision by the end of June.

"There will be a day when I sit down with my mom, dad and coaches and see if we can come up with a school," Wilson said. "We'll compare schools by putting two at a time on a table and saving the ones that I like."

Really seems like OSU is moving in a different direction, and as I have said, I am totally okay with that...

Was it Christian and his team that were on that ESPN reality show a few years back? Dick Butkus was their coach and it was called something like "Return to Glory".
