I didn't say leads as much as I assume he is going to end up there. Aliquippa has sent a ton of players to D-1 over the past few decades and the only one not to go to Pitt, who they offered, was Ty Law, which was like almost 20 years. Plus, he was at Pitt camp yesterday wearing a Pitt hat, he has been on their campus about fifty times, and his dad used to play there. You put it all together and it tells me he will eventually end up at Pitt.

Baldwin's father did play at Pitt, but his cousin played at Michigan. Ty Law. The last article I read by a Pittsburgh paper stated the if he had to choose today it would be Michigan. From articles and statements read he has been a Michigan lean. Hopefully true.

I'm not completely sold on Wannstedt being a bad gameday coach alike to the Zooker.
I've heard that he's been trying to get personnel to fit HIS system and is finally getting to that point. If Pitt doesn't play well this year, Wannstedt is absolutely on the hot seat if not fired. Although you do have to say that if that was true, Wanny is stupid for not adapting to the player's strengths. So many football coaches try to put square pegs in round holes.... always ends up bad. |

Aliquippa receiver Jonathan Baldwin, regarded as one of the top five prospects in the WPIAL, has narrowed his college choices to Florida, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Pitt and Southern Cal.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Baldwin attended Dave Wannstedt’s camp Saturday, and it’s believed to be a two-way race between Pitt and Michigan. (The last Quips player to pick the Wolverines was Ty Law in the early 1990s). Aliquippa assistant coach Sherman McBride said Baldwin informed Marquette that he will concentrate on football in college, not that Baldwin couldn’t play for Jamie Dixon. The Pitt coach would likely relish the opportunity to have a high-flying forward coming off the bench – especially against Marquette’s Tom Crean. Sitting Ringside - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review |

I'd love to see us get back in the race. If Scott goes defense, I'd love to see us target Tate, Baldwin, and Thomas for that remaining WR spot.
We'd easily have one of the best WR classes in the nation if we get just one of those players to go along with Posey and Stoneburner. |
