Well, either Justin can't count or he meant that Dantonio has offers out to just under ten kids who have already declared for other schools.
![]() In truth, despite the large number of '07 squad graduands the total number of available scholarships at Dantonio's command is very much open to debate. They had 111 listed on roster with 21 commits and 19 graduands listed on the 2006 Eligibility checker (Scout's greatest homage to BP's scholarship tracker). Though 30 were then listed as 2007 graduands and there were doubtless some falling by the wayside or transferring post JLS, that still leaves the magic number close to 80 total on roster. So, presuming a healthy walk-on head count getting a class in double figures, but below 20 wouldn't be that bad. Where MSU's offer sheet has sustained weakness at this point is in the number of high profile players indicating high interest in MSU - they all seem to be very much in play with competing schools. Much like Trey Fairchild, whose thread this is, and to which subject matter I will now return. |

If an OSU offer doesn't come for Trey, he can't go wrong with a place like Cuse. Greg Robinson, his wife and his son are great people who care about the kids off the field. He's also done a great job keeping morale high despite some real struggles adjusting to a new offense. Still, with very good coaching, great facilities and a surprising amount of talent on D, Cuse is a few good offensive recruits away from being able to consistenly compete with the top teams in the Big East.

Definitely want to wish good luck to Trey at the 'Cuse. I'd love to see them come back up as a Big East threat and pound down the likes of WV and the surprising Rutgers.

It hurts to see Trey being moved to this forum, but nothing but congratulations can be said to the whole Fairchild family. Great job Trey... and Jerry.. and good luck to you throughout your stay at Syracuse.

Good Luck to Trey.
Agree that it hurts a little to see Trey leave the state, but i'm glad you and Trey have found the right fit for him, Jerry. From everything I have heard, Trey sounds like a great young man, and we wish him the best.
Hopefully, he turns out to be a "bigger, faster Wayne Chrebet or a similar player to Marvin Harrison". That would be awesome. I will send you a message on here when i come down to see the boys play. Popcorn is on me. I will let you know. But please do stay around and update us on Trey's progress, as well as his teammates and the entire Coffman team. Good Luck to you and Trey and I'll see you this fall. |
