Tough RB and was the star on a good Elks team. However, Centerville runs the ball 90% of the time and he did receive a plethora of carries. He is likely a D1 player but not OSU caliber imo.

The math adds up to less than 10 carries/game. That is hardly a plethora.

He only played 4 games at DB this season...if he is tOSU caliber, he will have to prove it at camp.

It was difficult for any player to get a lot of carries for Centerville last year. Collins was one tailback, William Johnson (UC verbal, although that may not be the case now that Dantonio left) was the other tailback, FB James Cravens (who may get D-IA looks next year) is a good player, and their QB is also a good runner. I wonder what his stats, and reputation, would be if he was at a school where he'd be the #1 guy.

Ok I was off a bit...I've seen him in person, good player, but likely not OSU caliber.

Local High School Football Star Arrested
2News has learned a local high school football star has been locked up, accused in connection with a carjacking. The suspect is 18-year-old Taneareus Collins, a junior at Centerville High School. Investigators said they arrested Collins without incident after they stopped him while he was behind the wheel of a stolen Dodge Durango. Police said that vehicle was taken at gunpoint in Springdale on March 1. Police also told 2News they found a gun in the Durango, a gun Collins said is fake. Set to graduate in 2008, Collins is a standout football player at Centerville. He was featured in our Operation Football Play of the Night on October 27. Collins is a prized recruit being courted by no less than by Ohio State, Tennessee, and Cincinnati. Tonight he is far from the football field, in police custody, his future now very uncertain. Police said Collins denies he stealing the car. |

If all is as written then it is a damned shame to see a kid throw away, or at least put at very high risk, a very viable opportunity to improve his life.
