Notes- What a joke on Adams at 101...they try to make up for themselves and just look stupid doing so. Before you know it, there will be a top 251 to make room for Adams when everyone who hasn't seen him in person decides he isn't top 250 material . Yancich above Sweat is still a crime imo (though Yancich should fall in the 200-250 range I think and Sweat in the top 100 or right near it). Scott dropped way low, though I can't say I really disagree with Rivals there. McGuffie is way low, Williams moved up, and Mobley dropped a little I believe.

'08 Top 100 Football Recruits

With the high school football season hitting the halfway point, we decided to release our Midseason Top 100. Our top five remains the same with Jeannette (Jeannette, Pa.) quarterback Terrelle Pryor continuing to hold down the No. 1 ranking.

As for high risers, Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach, Fla.) cornerback Patrick Johnson moves up to the No. 7 spot and is now Florida?s No. 1 recruit. Meanwhile, Rancho Verde (Moreno Valley, Calif.) stud offensive lineman and USC commit Tyron Smith jumps all the way up to No. 23.

Some newcomers of note include Miami Northwestern (Miami, Fla.) senior quarterback Jacory Harris (No. 94) and Birmingham (Van Nuys, Calif.) running back Milton Knox (No. 100), both of whom have had phenomenal senior campaigns.

Can't say I agree with the Tyron Smith being the #1 OT in the country...

Not saying he isnt good, he has great footwork, great base, very athletic, but he reminds me of a Zebrie Sanders type player, who while is athletic and will grow into the position more, guys like Adams, kalil, Patchan have the size already, and have the atletic ability...

I think it is more of a risk to project adding weight, and the video on scout you could tell that he was killing the DE, and after a while the DE was basically just dropping to keep contain on the QB, and also he is from an all pass offense, so I think his pass blocking will need some work, and will he keep the athletic ability adding 40-50 lbs...

JMHO and I think that Brewster is the #1 lineman in the country and would have Adams in the top 15-20 players in the country and don't think that Tyron Smith is the #1 lineman in the country...

I think Goebel is too low. He's probably a top 70 player.

EDIT- I just noticed Devoe was demoted from 5 star status in favor of McGuffie. Wow...

Agreed in both places, but that is going off of the numbers and Devoe has struggled some at massilon and McGuffie puts up great numbers...

I would. I think a big edge goes to Torrence just for the fact that he's also a standout linebacker. Even if we're comparing their seasons, do we know how good their supporting cast is? Maybe someone who follows both schools can chime in.

Agreed on Smith...he is definetly a 5 star but I would take Kalil or Adams over him at OT. Not overly impressed with Patchan, the upside is there but I don't know if I would put him at a 5 star. As far as OL goes, Brew is the best hands down imo...

Devoe hasn't taken a single snap at LB since he left Canton South.

mcguffie's been hurt for most of the season and has been less than impressive as a result.

Rankings are more about hype...and nobody beats McGuffie in that category.
