Too many Ohio kids going to schools in the ACC and Big East...I truly believe that the big ten needs to start snatching up more of these kids from Ohio...

Obviously I am not talking about kids that we have offered, but other ones...

Schools like IU, MSU, Purdue, NW, etc...

I don't post much, but crazy hit on something that really bugs me. He's spot on about other B10 schools needing to clean up better with OSU's leftovers. Others may disagree, but I want the B10 to be better than it has been recently and a key part of that is getting the top Ohio kids that Ohio State doesn't offer to go to other B10 schools.

Looks like Zook sees the opportunity here and is offering a bunch of Ohio 2009s early...others should be doing the same IMO.

I know the rivals and scout rankings don't mean much in the entire scheme of things and it's how the kids perform once they get to college but how can there be that big of a difference in team rankings from site-to-site The Bucks are currently @ 6 in one and 14 in the other? According to Scout, the Bucks have 8 players in the top 100 verbally committed, which is more than any other team (Okla also has 8). You would think there would be a much higher point emphasis on getting the best of the best. Rivals puts more of an emphasis on quality of players rather than pure numbers. Look @ A&M up there @ #4 with 28 committs and the majority being 3 stars and no 5 stars. Seems to me, as an example: class of 15 of 4-5 5 stars and the rest of the majority made up of 4 stars is better than 20+ and a few 4's and mainly 3's. Regardless, the Bucks have a great class coming in. Already anxiously awaiting the Spring Game next year.

Many of these rankings are based and quantity rather than quality.

I think Scout out thinks themselves, and half the time they can't even explain how they do their rankings...It has something to do with the number of Wr's that were ranked by the site and then the number WR that is in the specific class...

So Mike Brewster being ranked as a C, even tho he is one of the very best OL in the country will hurt the rankings because of the small number of C's that are ranked...

But I am with you, there is no weak spot in our class, there is no guy you really look at and say he is recruited on potential to become a good player, most guys could play anywhere in the country as frosh, but we are loaded so some will redshirt...We filled all of our needs besides RB which we were hurt with the torrence situation...We got speed, size, depth on both lines, best QB in the country, best player in the country, best group of olineman in the country, a stud wrestler for a DT, a very under the radar 4 star DE, 2 of the best lbs in the country, and some underrated DB's to go along with with the number of Db's we brought in last season...


Needless to say I would put our class up against any class in the country and not think twice...

It cannot be said enough. Class rankings are overrated. Why base how good a class is, on a bunch of guys who work for an internet web-site???

I'd rather base my opinion on the offers a player has, and how well a team fills its' needs.

Anyways, how often do we see our own evaluators completely out-class a scout/rivals guy. It happens ALL THE TIME. Where'd Mike Adams end up in the recruiting rankings again???

That is why you take all the rankings from national guys with a grain of salt...They can only learn so much about an individual that it is hard for them to make rankings...

But IMO when the guy that gave the reason for ranking Mike Adams so low said he saw a couple full game tapes...He must of saw that it was mostly pass...then to have 2 3 star recruits(Qb,WR) going to big east schools and 1 WR going to tOSU, they had to know that they threw the ball...Didn't they???

Personally I like seeing Nathan Williams get some recognition. He is by far the one recruit that I have seen the least about. Very nice and congratulations to all the future BUCKS!!

With the team rankings from Scout.com due to be released this week, now is as good a time as any to look back at the Class of 2008 based on who suited up for their respective teams this month. After all of the class attrition, it turns out, there's a new #1.
