'08 OH QB Doug Reynolds (Eastern Illinois signee)
Was going to start a thread on Doug a few days ago, but decided to hold off...now it looks like it is time to get one going...
FWIW, the Scout database has a profile for a '08 QB from Colerain named Kevin Reynolds...not sure if that is a mistake on their part, but I am going to wait until it is corrected before linking his profile on BP to there. Rivals Profile Scout Profile ![]() Dual-threat quarterback Cincinnati (OH) Colerain Ht: 6-foot-2 Wt: 190 lbs Forty: 4.6 secs Bench max: 260 pounds Squat max: 480 pounds GPA: 3.6 Early interest in Cincinnati, Illinois, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin and Akron. |

Rivals $
2/7 From OhioVarsity...ND and Illinois have invited Doug to Junior Days and he as already in Knoxville for UT's Junior Day. He is looking for a school with a strong sports medicine program. Anything H&G can add from here on out would be great... |

for starters, his name is Doug...no idea who Kevin is. I sent off an email to osugrad late last night after the Colerain Stag once I got the inside scoop on Wisconsin and Tennessee. UT really, really likes Doug from what I am gathering. UC is a serious player because they do have a very good sports medicine program...but so does Tennessee. This is going to be an odd recruitment, IMO...Doug is a drop back passer with a big arm, but he will run the option again this coming season...its hard to get a gauge on a QB who never throws the ball....at least from a college recruiters perspective. Doug is probably not fast enough to play any other position at that high of a level, though...he's a tweener in my opinon: not experienced enough of a thrower to be a top QB candidate, nor fast enough to be a top ATH.... HOWEVER, Doug is a well grounded kid with great parents. He IS a great student AND he could develop into a fine college drop back qb. He'll not be a top 'get' for somebody, but he will be a good gamble for somebody because he will graduate, conduct himself with class and represent his university the right way. If I had to grade him, I'd give him 2 stars...Should play his way into a solid 3 stars before the end of his senior season. I don't think he gets to 4...But that doesn't mean I don't think he will be a good QB...there is just some risk involved because of him running an option offense. Hope that helps, Wadc!
