I ended up singing the praise of Wolfe after having doubted him prior to their game against us. But, keep in mind that the game was our season opener...I highly doubt he gets outside on us as much or that we miss as many tackles as we did that day later in the season.

I agree completely. There is no way to simulate game speed of a guy like that in practice. The Silver Bullets were basically learning on the job that afternoon, and Wolfe was the beneficiary, without a doubt.

Which only emphasizes how he may fared against the pounding a smaller back like him would face in the Big Ten...look how often Mike Hart seems to be dinged up.

Exaggerating in what sense? I think most are stating he very well could be legit but the size is a major redflag for a university such as Ohio State.

Which is exactly what most people have been saying...return man in the Big Ten...contributor at a WVU/UVA.

I was addressing the people who said he's a borderline D-1A player or that all he'd be was a returnman no matter where he went. I've seen quite a few of them, not just on this site though.

I remember Pittman saying he got run down in his first year playing in the big ten and he was around 5'11" 198.

Pittman was around 175 lbs. his freshman year. His sophomore year he was 195 and rushed for 1,300+ yards.

While his size will still be a concern at the next level, he's being recruited as a WR/RET by his top 4, not a RB.

Which is right where I like him...I don't think his size would be a concern if he is returning kicks and playing the slot WR. I think he could be a role player at the next level but I think there are many other options with higher ceilings at this point. Regardless, the only way I see OSU taking a look at him is if we miss on Thomas, Pead, and Adams, plus have an extra 'ship.

I see your point, but fwiw, Pittman said he was 185 his fr. season and added 10 lbs. to get to 195 his soph. season.

No offense, but skill players are notorious for inflating their height and weight. I saw Pittman in person, and I'd be surprised if he was 185 as a freshman.

He added 20 lbs. That's directly from his mouth. So either his listed freshman weight was wrong or his listed sophomore weight was wrong. I'll compromise and say he was 180 as a freshman and 200 as a sophomore.

There are some people (my son) working really hard to get Saddler to Syracuse. He has them in top four and loves the staff, per conversations.

I dont think, if we even do offer Saddler, that he would see the field as a running back, and certainly not a feature back. He could be a slot receiver or a DB, but seeing as how no one is even recruiting him as a running back, arguing over whether or not he could be a feature back in the Big Ten seems kind of pointless.

I think it needs to be said...despite the recent chatter surrounding Saddler and OSU, the BPRT is still fairly certain there is zero chance Saddler gets an offer from OSU. The fact that he is 5-7 hasn't changed and blowing up at a 7-on-7 tournament is not anything to get all worked up about. 7-on-7s are like summer invites for basketball players where the PGs and shooters shine. At 7-on-7s its the QBs and WRs.
