Starting at the :55 second mark, there are 4 straight plays that showed me where the hype is coming from...in the first two, you see Greg squeeze flat and redirect...that is natural movement for him. That is the toughest thing to get a HS DL to do, pay gap responsibility and squeeze excess space..yet, Greg gives a textbook demonstration then shows excellent athleticism on the redirect to get in on the play. Then, we see a nasty burst on the next two plays...unbelievable potential.

And according to the article, that would be his first high school football game???

Which doesn't even begin to show the player he is now. Greg has easily progressed more than any other Bomber this year, and it's not even close. If that video excites you, wait until you see more recent footage. He's been wrecking havoc on opposing offenses of late.

This is a terrific story regardless of Greg possibly receiving an offer from tOSU, which i am beginning to hope he does...
One item that has sturck me as odd/impressive is that up to this season Greg has been in the marching band and played basketball and not on the football team ( i.e. weight training program) but yet his bio says his bench max is 300 lbs. Either the marching band / B-ball team has a serious strength coach, or Greg has been doing some serious lifting on his own. Please, oh please let Lichter and Reynolds gets their hands on this kid.

Hey X, did Gregg play in the St. X/Elder game...It is on local on demand, and they list him as a starter when the starters popped up, but I went thru 2 defensive series and never saw him?
Just curios if he was banged up, or played later in the game, Thanks.
BTW I agree with Grad that he has tremendous potential and his natural fluid movement is very nice...

I found this yesterday. It's an audio clip of a speech Scruggs gave about what it means to him to attend St. X. It doesn't really have much to do about football, but it shows you a lot about his character. Really intelligent, articulate kid with an engaging personality. He's a "Tressel recruit" all the way.

Ok....first off...JT should offer this kid based on that speech alone. Amazing sounding kid......I am speechless....totally floored by his poise and strong nature.
Second, Grad...I am 100% backing your take on him. Not many of you know this but one of our starting DE's had problems with " squeeze flat and redirect" and was actually trained to do it with the help of a remote control car!!! So, for a kid to naturally perform a move like that, especially at his size, makes his ceiling project very high.
Offer now...and let Hale go!!

Wow! I have a man-crush on this kid! If upside is as high as everyone seems to think - I'm all for an offer for Greg.

Well, to be fair, Greg's instrument in the marching band was piano.
