For the board experts, if OSU was to offer another DL prospect; would it be Scruggs or Mercilus? Are they similar types of players or are they two completely different types?

St. X has Stephon Ball (D1 prospect, son of Eric Ball) playing TE and does not have anyone going both ways this year. There was talk of playing Greg at TE, but after starting DE Joe Langen was kicked out of X last year, there was a hole at DE. Greg filled that void and hasn't seen any game action at TE as a result.

If Louisville is able to snag Ashley, Ball and Scruggs...that would be a heck of a nice haul.

Greg will visit Tennessee, UNC, Michigan State and probably Wake Forest in December, but Michigan is likely eliminated due to the coaching uncertainty.

The Buckeyes will be making a decision on offering him soon.

As you say, it may help Louisville a bit in the future. But, I do not think anyone is ever going to have a pipeline at St. X. It's just such a big school that brings in kids from such a wide area (including Indiana and Kentucky) that each recruit will be different. I suspect that St. X players will continue to spread out across the country without too much of a concentration in any one place.

"All week long, we worked on frustrating them," St. Xavier defensive end Greg Scruggs said after the Bombers' 27-0 pasting of the Cardinals. "We wanted to show them a bunch of looks and some different blitzes.
"Keep the pressure on Tanski. Keep the pressure on Tanski."
Tanski, a 6-2 senior, completed 201 of 350 passes for 3,001 yards and 25 touchdown passes prior to facing St. Xavier. He directed a no-huddle spread offense, usually featuring four or even five wide receivers, that averaged 39.4 points and 456 yards a game.

St. Xavier's defense featured Scruggs, a 6-5, 230-pound senior and a Division I college prospect, and linebackers Evan Miller and Fred Craig. Miller had three of the Bombers' five quarterback sacks. Craig, a Stanford recruit, made plays from sideline to sideline.

Scruggs looked very good tonight. Could use a lot of work on using his hands and leverage but all the tools are there. He is a sick athlete for his size and it really blew me away how good he is in pursuit. I would not be against offering Scruggs at all.
