Who Gets the Last 4 Schollies?
Folks, I'm more than a bit confused. With all the information about the potential recruits that OSU is still 'in' on, I look at the amount of schollies we have to give this year, and I see FOUR!
OK, we're saving one for Pryor, Jenkins, Thomas and the WR from Minnesota (or the DL from Minnesota) or ?????? Or someone else that Tress & Co is recruiting that we readers have no clue about. So, what is the maximum we can take this year (I guess take away one of the walk-on's schollies). Next question is who do we hold them for solidly? Or are there some 'silent verbals' out there? Sorry if this has been covered in one or more places, but if someone could definitively answer the above for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. (There's probably some others out there that would benefit also)...... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We should have at least 3 more scholarships open up. I would say at least 2 go pro, though I'd bet on 3, not sure who though but we always lose guys to the NFL early. Also, you can't forget guys who would like more PT. Their buried on the depth here, like Ryan Williams and Walter Dublin, and are good enough to transfer out and play more elsewhere. Grades and behavioral issues always spring up and we could lose 1 or 2 there. I would at least 3, maybe as much as 5. Would Tressel and the staff ever take away a scholarship from a guys like Thoma or Lisko? Maybe not Lisko, but Thoma since he is only a Soph. eligability wise and then promise him one as a Senior if he thought it would be beneficial to open one up for this class? Just a thought. Lisko will be a Senior next year, so I can't imagine his scholarship being anything but safe.
Anyways, back to your question. I would say Cordale Scott, Terrelle Pryor, Willie Mobley and Lamaar Thomas take the 4 that are on the table right now, because they seem the most likely to commit soon. Michael Floyd, Josh Jenkins and Etienne Sabino take the scholarships of those that leave early for the pros (again, I would forecast 3 open this way). If one more opens up, bring in Brandon Moore as another DE, not a TE. Yes, I realize he's a Michigan commit for the moment, but there has been plenty of chatter lately of how he and their staff are not even on the chapter, much less the same page, as each other. I really get excited when I think of his potential on the DL. How is that? Does that answer your question? ![]() |

Just as a heads up there, is quite a bit of talk on the last few pages here...
Here As for the 4 I would go with Pryor(duh), Scott(silent), Mobley(soon?), Thomas(next week?) Then next in line would be Jenkins, Flyod, Sabino, Hale, Howard, Moore, Scruggs...The thing is I really think that the guys from this list that come will be no longer than 2 or 3... I always thought this class would = 18, but that was before Terry returning for next year and Thomas going on scholarship... I still think that we can get to that 18 #, but it would be at the expence of losing guys to attrition... Any way you slice and dice it, our 15-18 will be better than anyone elses in the country... |

You have up to five juniors possibly leaving early:
Jenkins Laurintaitis Gholston Boone Robiskie Add in a possible transfer or two, and I think it's safe to say we'll have more then four schollies left to give. |
