He ended up second team All-FAVC. This teammate, 6-4 junior John Runk, ended up as Anderson's leading receiver and was first team All-FAVC. He's definitely a sleeper in the truest sense of the word.

Nick Truesdell and Jake Stoneburner in the same class would be sick. Two WRs with speed that are big enough to play TE. Two words: Redzone mismatch.

Truesdell had a great night in the state finals. The impressive part of his night occured in the first quarter when he caught "jump balls" against Louisville's best athlete Brandon Mathie. Mathie a junior is no slouch, he set a DII record for most catches in a state playoff game with 11 and most touchdown receptions with 3 in the game with Anderson.

When you are 6'7 and blow up like that in the state finals game when everyone is watching, good things are sure to happen...

I sat next to the brother of the Anderson head coach at the state game, and talked to him for a bit. According to him, Nick has just come on toward the end of the season. He seemed to be a bit soft toward the beginning, and there was some concern, but has gotten over that. That kickoff return was insane. He has speed, but with the size, he basically just ran over half the coverage team. Was hoping the Bucks took notice

Hmmm, so I was thinking about this goal line set, or on a critical 3rd/4th down: Stoneburner (6'6"), Truesdell (6'7") and Dion Sims (6'5") for 2009. It would seem these guys would need to be attended to by a couple defenders simply becuase of their height, leaving Posey (6'2-3" and who probably will also attract doubleteams soon enough) out wide as well and Saine/Flash out of the backfield... leaving plenty of running lanes for Pryor.
OMG... ... we could be SERIOUSLY disgustingly good on offense when these guys get through the system. |
