I however do believe he is our best shot at success this year with a full season under his belt and nearly his entire front.
Alot of SC fans got on JDB, but like you, I thought he gave us the best chance to win. Not a great qb, but in my eyes a good one, same as TB. What some SC fans seem to forget, EVERY week players have to earn their starting spot, and obviously nobody was beating JDB out in practice. Coach PC calls it competition tuesday. I kinda dont care for it though because thats seems to be where we get injuries!

I totally can see the comparison. Todd is a big kid, pushing 6'6", and he's got a good long ball arm. My biggest ??? is his poise in the pocket, and making quick decisions. When he is on, we will have a very strong deep ball game coupled with a beast like Beanie in the trenches, which will be very difficult to defend.

Last year we didn't ask him to do too much. His production was a result of the talent around him. We simplified his role hoping to eliminate errors and exploit our other strengths. But when we needed him to step up he went the opposite direction. His drop off in the second half of the season came from increased pressure and stronger competition.

The quarterback position has a steep learning curve so I don't think that he can be evaluated in absolute terms. The biggest improvement from a quarterback comes from the first year to the second year. I will say however that my impression of him last year was that he was completely devoid of any positive intangibles. I expect that we could beat SC with the Boeckman of last year but if we fail to run the table or win the championship I'm sure it will have been because of our weakness under center.

And I think we can beat OSU with Sanchez.

Completely devoid of all positive intangibles? I think you are being a little harsh with that statement. He did do some good things last year. It wasn't all bad. He may not be the Troy Smith type whose intangibles seemed virtually unlimited. But I think there were times that he showed a good amount of leadership and presence last year.

Yeah, I want to talk about linebackers that are faster than our receivers and how many first round draft pick backups USC has too.

IMHO TB will be a good nfl qb. His style fits the pro game very well, and his height is a bonus as well.

Sounds good.

Your DL is green, and it doesn't matter how good your LB's are if your line isnt getting a push. Trust me.

Apologies if this was previously posted.
He's approaching Desmond Howard with his level of disrespect there. I hope a chunk of the meteor that eventually hits the ND-TSUN game takes a detour into Carson Palmer.

Kind of like my words above are really just a reference to past BP conversations more than serious psychosis.

To me, it is not at all surprising that we have so few Trojan fans here as compared to Texas fans. I've lived in Southern California, and people there are not into football in general... nothing like Ohio or Texas.

Neither is it surprising that it has taken us until July 20th to hit 1000 posts in this thread. The '05 Texas thread hit 1000 posts on May 10th of that year. The '06 Texas thread hit 1000 posts on May 5th of that year.

To me, those numbers give you a pretty accurate picture of the relative (true) fan support for Texas and USC. This is not at all a slight at the good Trojan posters here. You cannot help the fact that there aren't more people like you in SoCal.
