Did LSU being down 14-3 in the second half have anything to do with that? The same risky calls that Les has gotten away with will stop bouncing there way at some point and his calls will be looked at differently.

I am more than confident and comfortable winning games with 2002/3 Tressel-ball for a few weeks. Help TP progress and watch how things change after 28 is back in the backfield. Also, if Robiskie makes that catch in the first half and scores, how does Troy react at that point? Do they not play the run as much? All of a sudden TP has a (another) bomb TD, the banwagonners are all excited and the margin of victory is higher and I think the playcalling is viewed slightly different.

I get so frustrated with our "fans" sometimes. Booing kids and demanding coaching changes when a formula has led our program to recent success only rivaled by USC. Do I want to see 70-6 victories and 600 yards of offense? Yes. But I also realize we are on average going to make fewer mistakes, take fewer risks, give up fewer big plays and win via the fundamentals. I will live with that.

EXACTLY!! Of course, that only works on B10 teams. USC wouldn't fall for it in L.A., there aren't any deer.

I am with you - watching on TV the Shoe sounded dead quiet and even looked like there were some empty seats in the open end even though the announcers called it a sell out crowd. Since when doesn't the Buckeye Nation pack our house and since when don't we have the loudest place to play?

and sometimes the people who are capable of taking off the scarlet colored glasses and being objective get sick to death of having their "fanhood" questioned by the kool aid drinkers.

I backed down and kept my mouth shut a lot this summer because I didn't feel like arguing or being perceived as too negative. Well [censored] that going forward. I'm calling it like I see it.

2002-2003 Tressel ball? Are you kidding me? Have you seen the defense and special teams this year? Or last year for that matter?

How hard is it to see the same things play out against two different caliber opponents and entertain the thought that maybe, just maybe the difference in the results was due to the talent level of the competition?

NOTHING has changed on the defensive side. The only thing difference on offense is that Pryor is mobile enough to buy himself time in the pocket which makes him more effective than Boeckman because our OL isn't going to give any QB much time.

There is no one on earth I would rather have at the helm of the ship than Jim Tressel. That said, I think its beyond time for some new blood on his staff and that includes two new coordinators, especially on defense.

I sort of agree, but ... how much blame would you put on the OL/DL play - which has been weak at best this year - and how much on the schemes/playcalling - which is obviously the result of coaching/coordinating? Even "great" schemes won't work if the guys in the trenches are getting buried much of the time....

I don't know how much I would put on the O line but a good percentage of it for sure.
Woody seemed to have only three plays at times but they were executed so well that they worked.
So to me it all starts with execution and from there to the O line in particular since if they do everything correct and well then other things like play calling and schemes go much easier and everyone is happy.
Such is not the case this year and I don't know it is leadership, or chemistry in the O line that is the problem. I do know that there is at least one that I am not enamored to as far as line play goes. But I'm up north here so I have to depend on others closer for whatever details I get.

But in the end if the line doesnt wokr then it causes a multitude of othyer problems and THAT is what we have so far.

I agree with a lot of what Jaxbuck has said in his post. I will like to point out that Troy's offense is very difficult to defend and I will be very interested in seeing the final score when they play LSU.

With regard to what you have said, I don't think we get beat up in the trenches this week but we certainly get beat up last week and if the schemes/plays are not working because of the offensive line and defensive line doesn't that boil back to recruiting and how the coaches are coaching the talent once they come to Ohio State.
