Ohio State 28, Troy 10 (Final, Sep. 20)
The week after USC, another game against Trojans? These will be coming from Alabama.

Classic letdown game?
Win or lose (but especially win) against USC, this game is scares me a bit.
1) The team will have a hard time getting up for this game after the biggie on the west coast. 2) The long flights to the west coast and back are never fun and take a day or two to re-adjust. 3) This team isn't Youngstown St. They're better than the MAC, for that matter. Just good enough that if you forget to show up, they can sneak up on you. |

I would hope that with all the experience this team has, these ^^^^ will not be factors. I see your point though. I also think this team knows how close it has come and will stop at nothing to become National Champions!! |

Bucks will be flatter than a BP pancake. That is cause for worry. But, Troy will be starting a new QB so that helps. Bet the under...............

I look for the crowd to help us out in this one. Since USC is on the coast if we win this is our "welcome home" game. They should be loud enough when we take the field to get a little adrenalin flowing - and it will only take a little.
After all, this is Troy - not Appalachian St. |

If Beanie can have a solid game against USC, then explode against Troy - I love his potential to get the early season Heisman voters.

If he has a big game at USC and we win the Heisman talk will be in full effect before the Troy game.

Do not discount the tough schedule Troy plays and their spread offense.
This game will be very interesting if we show up flat, which is likely. And what happens if we should lose at SC? How will that mentally effect this team? We could be looking at a real disaster. Just sayin'...... |

Unless Troy is allowed to bring back Leodis McKelvin, DeMarcus Ware, Osi Umenyiora, and Omar Haugabook, they won't stay within 24.

From the article posted earlier:
Why it May Not Matter: If Ohio State loses to USC, they will probably take it out on Troy in ugly fashion. While it's true that the Troy played Georgia to within 10 points, it took a touchdown with five seconds left to keep that from being 17. Troy also lost senior QB Omar Haugabrook to graduation and star CB Leodis McKelvin to the NFL draft this offseason. Ohio State is absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball, so it's a bit much to expect a Sun Belt Conference team to win in the Horseshoe no matter the circumstances. However, my take on this game and any other so called "trap" game... tOSU gets every team's best shot...every single team, every single week: this one won't be any different. Don't kid yourselves, this team won't be looking past anybody, Troy included. They'll play their asses off simply because they're from the middle of SEC country.(Sunbelt Conference but still Alabama) They only need be reminded of this past January and the chants of S-E-C serenading them in the superdome to put things back in perspective. No F'n Mercy! Kill em all!!! ![]() |
