Anyways, no offense, but if Beanie was 100%, this would be a 20 point game at halftime. Whether he plays or not, he won't be 100%, so there goes that wish. If OSU plays like it has the last 3 games (or maybe all year), then this will be a nailbiter. I'm hoping the offense finds its rhythm and the defense finds its swagger and the Bucks are able to get some breathing room in the 4th quarter.

Also, I do agree, Pryor doesn't look like he's trying to hold on to the ball sometimes. But then again, he doesn't really look like he's trying to run either, and the next think you know, he's 15 yards down field. If your defensive ends are weak, you might be hating Pryor by Saturday evening. He leasurely jogs a 4.3 40.

The best tOSU offense would def be a speed option and get him on the perimeter. Pryor will cough it up passing it--the OSU pass game isnt that exotic and like I said--he is young and can easily be duped into a "frosh" throw. Gophers have 9 ints on the year so they will def play aggressive.

I would keep it on the ground all day, either Pryor or Boom and Saine. Then an easy play action pass. Dropping Pryor back I dont think plays into his skill set and comfortability at this early stage. He will do better right now playing "sand lot"--having room to create and run.

Any word on Beanie playing? I wonder if they wont save him for WIsky. Saine looks good....better than Mo Wells and Boom IMHO.

Disagree strongly, Boom has shown the best vision, instincts and ability out there. Saine, despite his size and potential, has been tentative out there (ever since his major injury last sep).

Who was the RB on the first quarter drive when they got it down inside the 5 yard line but had penalties that pushed them out of TD range at USC?

I apologize if I got the wrong guy. Whoever was the bell cow that drive looked good.

That was Boom. Shortest RB, but runs hard and with great vision.

Unfortunately our Ohio days are done I fear Mase and Mitch Browning (who is with Syracuse now...poor guy!) had great inroads here.

Brewster, like most coaches, is in love with Texas, Fla, and Cali. I like the Ohio kids though....Justin Isom, Bryan Cupito, and his favorite WR Jared Ellerson were all good players for Minnesota, and better yet, good students and good people for the U community.

Those guys were obviously not on the OSU recruiting radar, but I remember the chip they had on their shoulder against the Bucks. Cupito had 400 yards passing against OSU in 2005 and a majority were to Ellerson. Just a subtle reminder that the kids that dont go to OSU can still play A very deep state and wish we still hit it hard. With Cincy's rise though and D'Antonio near by I bet we would be crowded out in that second tier of a draw for Ohio kids.

Interestingly enough, another Ohio guy, Jamar Howard, who was originally a Gopher recruit and didnt qualify, is back on our radar. I dont know if you folks remember him. He bounced around a bit I think. Anyways he plays JUCO ball in Cali, at the same school we got one of our starting corners, the same school Brewsters kid now plays QB at, and the school were Brewster himself attended: College of the Sequoias. Dont ask me where that is.

I hope that Howard still remembers what he loved about the Twin Cities, and loves the new pass happy offense and signs with us this year.

I just don't get what's happening with Ray at all. I also don't get the insistance on putting Robo at PR, especially with an injured shoulder. Are there really no better options there? I can't believe how much the ST's have lagged the past two seasons.

Methomps is a USC fan, good regular poster. Gatorubet is a Florida fan, also an excellent regular. We have a number of solid LSU guys that have stuck around after last year's BCSCG. Used to have a handful of Texas guys, but they aren't around much anymore.

To Gophers fans hoping for an upset victory over 13th-ranked Ohio State now that the University of Minnesota football team is 4-0, Tim Brewster says hold on a minute.
The Gophers, who dominated Florida Atlantic 37-3 on Saturday at the Metrodome, have shown they are much improved from a year ago when they went 1-11, but they still have a ways to go to reach Ohio State's level.
"We wanted to be a 4-0 football team at this point, and we are," said Brewster, the Gophers' second-year coach. "There are some people saying how great we are, but we also know that if we don't play well against (the Buckeyes), they can embarrass us in their back yard."
That doesn't mean Minnesota can't give defending Big Ten Conference champion Ohio State (3-1) a competitive game Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. With a much less talented team last season, the Gophers battled the Buckeyes, trailing by 14 points at halftime in a 30-7 loss at the Metrodome.
But Ohio State could have a much different look this weekend with the nation's top high school recruit, Terrelle Pryor, probably getting his first Big Ten start at quarterback.
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Pryor became first true freshman to start at quarterback for the Buckeyes since 1978 when he replaced senior Todd Boeckman in a 28-10 victory over Troy on Saturday. Pryor completed 10 of 16 passes for 139 yards with four touchdowns and an interception, and he rushed 14 times for 66 yards.

I think Pryors most successful plays have been on drop-back passes for your given reason....when he drops back, he turns it into sandlot football. He threw several beautiful balls against Troy where he bought extra time in the pocket which allowed his receivers to break free. Something Todd wasn't really capable of doing.

Terrelle also has more lanes to run in on called Pass plays. Truthfully, the designed runs haven't been that well executed, with exception to some of the read option plays for 10-15 yards.

To me it's similar to watching Vince Young play. Vince was at his best on called pass plays, because every pass play had an option in it...scan the field, watch he LB's and DB's get deep, and take off running if nothing is open.

I've seen Minnesota play this year and their defense isn't their strong point...in the game I watched it was their offense that looks much improved. They had a good RB i cant remember his name he rushed for about 100 yrds in the game i watched but tore his ACL towards the end of the game. If we want to win this game we have to bring pressure on the D and force them into mistakes.
