no, pryor's always been using the stiff-arm

IMO Royster is going to be MUCH harder than Ringer. The type of offense PSU runs will keep our defense honest better. I sure how Chikwa is ok though because PSU has 3 good recievers and having Jenkins/Washington/Chikwa would be HUGE.

this upcoming game against PSU will be the biggest game of the season for us (obviously). I think we can run the ball on PSU I really do. I think the team that wins the turnover battle will win the game. Fortunately OSU has been pretty good at it this year.

As far as this game goes. I was furious that MSU'S backup QB came in and did as well as he did. I knew he was going to do well though!! Seriously, when was the last time a back up QB didn't kick ass in a game?

It was nice to see Pryor going down field much more often in this game though. I would still like to see more than 11-14 pass plays called though? I understand we didn't need to throw the ball, but if we're throwing bombs with minutes left in the game then we should've let pryor throw some intermidiate passes to get in a rythme. Him connecting with Posey was a very nice throw early in the game.

Defensively.. Did a nice job upfront in this game! I thought Rose, Williams, and Delinger did great. I thought besides the fumble recovery that Gibson was a little quiet today, but everyone has to have an off day sometimes I suppose. Seriously though where has Freeman gone? I hear Jenkins, Animals, and Homans name called all the time. Not so much though for freeman?

Nevermind that one matchup on GameDay in September in the Coliseum that all but ruined our NC hopes...

OK. Who kidnapped JT and Bollman in the first half?

Screens? Draws? Passes to fullbacks and tight ends? Establishing an offensive rhythm? What the hell was all that about?!?!

I love how they play Brandon Smith, he has TE written all over him... Yet they line him up as a FB and pull him out of the backfield. Great game planning IMO. Just one more target for defenses to lose sight of.

I loved the intensity and aggressiveness that the men brought today. I have been telling everyone that the team was just a half step away from playing to their potential and that they would turn the corner soon. I think today was the day. That was a completely different team out there, and the one that everyone was expecting coming into the season. Rolle is a beast. Pryor made quick decisions. He wasn't perfect, but he made quick decisions and just played his game without over-thinking it. Beanie is.....Beanie (best in the nation). The defense played great "bend but not break" ball and was dominant for most of the game. Great teams force turnovers at critical points in games, and that is what they did today. I think that they will build on this win and take it to PSU next weekend. I would also like to say that BP is THE best Buckeye forum out there. This is my first post with many to come.

Behind Pryor, Ohio State Boosts Shot at Title Game

By JIM CARTY
Published: October 18, 2008

EAST LANSING, Mich. ? Before the Ohio State football team boarded the bus Friday for the five-hour trip to Michigan State, the freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor stopped by Jim Tressel?s office with a request the coach had never heard in more than two decades of coaching.

Pryor told him that he should come out of the game if the Buckeyes failed to move the ball in the first quarter.

Pryor then made certain that Tressel never had to consider that possibility, repeatedly making plays and combining with a stifling defense to lead 12th-ranked Ohio State to a 45-7 victory over No. 20 Michigan State.

The Buckeyes set off a rout almost immediately with three unanswered touchdowns in the game?s first 13 minutes, each of them engineered by Pryor.

cont'd...

Forced to choose between Wells or Pryor, the Spartans? defense often made the wrong decision, with Pryor repeatedly turning ball fakes into long runs.

?You?re going to take me or Beanie ? it?s up to the defense to decide that,? Pryor said. ?They couldn?t stop the run. When we have to pass the ball, I?m sure I?ll be ready. People don?t know me, they don?t know what I can do.?

They may find out quickly with the Buckeyes hosting undefeated Penn State next weekend in what could be a showdown for the Big Ten title.
