 Ohio State's Malcolm Jenkins blocks Illinois' Anthony Santella's punt, resulting in a safety for the Buckeyes. Ohio State defeated Illinois 30-20.

Boom reminds me much of Pittman. Pitt wasn't the fastest, strongest or most talented, but he ran heady and with heart. Of course after Beanie, our views on any RB is going to be jaded.  This was my first game of the season I was able to watch! I thought the team faired well. The run defense was lacking, but you can't expect everything to go your way 100%, every week. We were able to maintain the passing defense and win the turnover, and the end score is all that matters. Bottom line, the line looked better than what Ive been reading about, Pryor and a healthy Beanie went into a hostile environment and played exceptionally well. Im proud of our guys, and the stat the amazed me most - only 4 penalties for 18 yards. Nice job boys. and a HUGE  to all the posters here at BP with the consistant update. You all don't understand how valuable your posts are to us on the otherside of the world on the holiest of days - Saturday!

That was a fun game to watch! Beanie's hurdle was just SICK! TP continues to impress. I love it.

Nice win...great effort by Beanie.
I do wish they trusted Terrelle more. 1 throw in the third, 1 throw in the fourth seems ridiculously conservative. 6-10 on the day for 47 yards. Again, Terrelle made things happen when he was allowed to drop back and pass. Sweet scramble and find on the Sanzenbacher TD. Kid is unreal.

First want to give props to Tyler Moeller, played a great game today and plays with reckless abandon out there...
Gonna miss watching Jenkins...He will go down right besides the other MJ as my favorite buckeyes... Props to the oline for opening up some big holes, they knew it was coming, we were still getting big gains... Great job on D of blitzing and getting after Juice...One thing Heyward is just a tad slow to play end...I think next year he makes the permenant switch to DT and does a great job for us there, but he had Juice a couple times and then Juice just ran right around him...Think that GIbson and WIlliams are going to make a terror for opposing teams off the edge... Maybe I am out of the loop here a little bit...Maybe guys are hurt/doghouse/ whatever...But can anyone answer a couple questions for me...We obviously weren't getting any thing from the [censored] poor announcers today...Maybe they played, maybe a little, I remember seeing Todd Denlinger at the very end I think... Posey? Denlinger? Sabino? Hines? And a couple other things...I love Tress to death as the coach of tOSU and think that everything he has done for the university is absolutely great...academics, recruiting, turning the program around, NC games, big ten titles, beating michigan, representing the university with class... Always been behind his in game, punt play field position, run the clock when you have the lead etc...but today just struck me wrong for whatever reason...I have read around and talked to a couple people and most see it as we had the game in control the whole time, but it just seemed like he was allowing Illinois to try and hang around... The first quarter was great, I jumped off the couch and yelled great play call Tress a couple times in the first quarter...We were throwing the corner routes, hitting some different style QB runs, and just looked to really be in sync with the playcalling, not the grab bag stuff that it seemed like at other times this season... But then it changed...I was ready with 230 left in the first half to try and put the game away then...I obviously think you play for the first first down when you are on the 20 and then go from there...I don't think you throw the ball 3 times in a row and give them the ball back with 2 minutes left to do...But I don't think you run the ball 6 straight times give them the ball back with time to score...Why not try a screen pass, or a WR screen, or maybe some 10 yd outs to the WR... I don't think Tress is a bad play designer, I just think at times he gets into his thinking of we are up, run run run punt... Obviously he has won more D-I football games then many people that have coached the game different than him...And obviously he has shown here that he has the abililty to have teams that put points on the board, butmy only thinking is this... We have guys like Hartline, Robo, Dane, Posey, Ballard, Nicol, Thomas, and coming in guys like Berry, Carter, Jackson, Fields...Are they going to see the ball? I am not saying I want stats like NCAA football or Texas Tech, or the big XII...I just feel that we have better athletes than most of the other teams we play, why not put them in easy situations where they can take advantage of their skills, get them a mismatch on a LB when teams stack the box, or give them a WR screen and let them use their speed...I am not saying make Terelle Pryor thrown 30 times/game and have 4 combo routes, or anything stupid like that...Just simple things to spread the ball around and while being simple, make us that much more difficult to defend...We know that we can line up and smash it down teams throats like we did today most of the time, but what about PSU when they stop the run, or USC...Great we ran it down Illinois' throat today, and I understand the weather, and maybe they felt the game was in control, I would just like to see us broaden the horizons so to speak, in simple ways to make us more diverse... Just taking a look at teams like Texas, Mizzou, Florida, Texas Tech, and I don't want to throw the ball 60 times/game, I don't want to have the QB be the primary back, I don't want to make the game won thru the air... But they make it look simple when they just throw simple out routes for 3 yds but have the defense so off balance that they are getting 10 yds...Or just a WR bubble screen and they get 10, or the fade stop that these teams seem to be running now adays...When I look at Colt McCoy's numbers and watch him play, you see why his completion percentage is so high, it isn't really because he is hitting 15yd deep outs or hitting fades, but he is hitting simple passes, WR screens, and the playmakers are making plays... Alright off my rant, someone tell me I am not off my rocker here...I am not calling for Tress's head or anything stupid like that, just a little diversity, and would love to see it start this coming week and then in a bowl game...

Pryor has only played 6 games and the coaches are fitting the offense to his abilities. Don't be in such a hurry for him to be a senior .

Denlinger got banged up vs. Akron and hasn't made it back to the starting lineup since. I'm guessing Posey is just learning the game like Dane did last year. He can make plays physically but we got guys who understand the gameplan better right now. Sabino is sitting behind 33.
I thought the gameplan was good. We thought we could pound the ball and we did. I'm hoping we rush for 300 yds next week.

I think your concerns are legit, but as others have said, TP is young and they're not making him make important decisions unless they have to. I can respect that. That being said, I'd like to see them put a bit more pressure on the young man so it's not overwhelming in the bowl game. He's given us no indication that he can't handle the pressure.
