Really? Wow, yeah, I disagree. I didn't see much of anything out of him all year. The best example is the Wisky game. Michigan was far more explosive with Minor in that game. I'm not saying McGuffie is a bad back... he's average with potential to be better than average. I'm saying he's very much over-rated. And I would also disagree that his hype is limited to Michigan fans. Maybe as the season progressed, his hype cooled off, but all I heard for the first 5 or 6 games was "youtube sensation" McGuffie. Blah blah blah. I'm not impressed.

I think the most overrated back in the Big Ten is Hill.

Fanbases are large enough to find some who will say anything, but by and large McGuffie was not respected by outsiders due to his inability to do anything beyond what a 170 lb slot WR could do.

I was fortunate enough to be there that day. Klaban went from being a walk-on to scholarship because of that game.

I watched that today, and one of the many things that stuck out to me was how subdued the crowd seemed. My first Buckeye game wasn't until 1979, and even then, it's difficult to make a fair comparison, but there wasn't a lot of standing and cheering. Is that a fair statement? Or did it just seem that way on the replay?

you can download it as a .flv file using a firefox add-on, but you'd need some sort of conversion software... i used to have a shareware or freeware program, but i lost it in a crash... never got back into it since we stopped hosting vids here...

The Game finally is available on ESPN360 in Europe. My son arrived back in town and we watched it last night. I was desperately disappointed when I could not see the live broadcast of The Game, but I really enjoyed watching it for the first time with my son. That was very special.

so i walked by a kid in a bar tonight wearing a UM sweater and hat. i asked him what he thought about the bucks. he was puzzeled. i saw him again and i asked him what he thought about dick rod. then he asked me when i graduated. i said 2004 and he ambushed me by saying so you graduated 4 years ago and you are still obsessed with michigan? then he told me he went to duke (and claimed to be wearing the sweater just for fun) and called me a loser for caring about the mich osu rivalry. i laughed at him and said obviously you have no clue. he then tried to lecture me about how much better the duke UNC bball rivalry is. then tried to start a fight, and i wanted to go, but my friends said it wasn't worth it. i'm not a fighter but i really wanted to curb stomp that douche.

After my time on the UNC faculty last year and living in Chapel Hill, I came away with a healthy appreciation of the Duke - UNC basketball rivalry. It really is an intense rivalry, made more so because only 30 miles or so separate the schools. You shop at the same major regional mall as the enemy, so to speak.

Notwithstanding my respect for that rivalry, nothing comes close to the Ohio State - Michigan rivalry in football.
