Saw him today in the Schott agianst Zanesville, and he is the real deal. I think he had about 20 points, but I was just as impressed with his passing abilities. He was dropping dimes everywhere, no look passes and a sweet behind the back. Wisconsin, Wright State, and another guy who was talking with the Wisconsin guy (Iowa maybe?) all had scouts there, and Jackson put on quite a show for them. I would not be suprised at all if he ends up at a high-major school. Very talented player who carried his team against the #32 ranked team in the country according to MaxPreps.

Warren Harding slips past Zanesville 60-58

Sunday, January 13, 2008 3:36 AM
By Steve Blackledge

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Flanked by his coach and teammate Damian Eargle, Warren Harding junior guard Desmar Jackson didn't even bother trying to enhance his role in the final seconds of a tie game with Zanesville yesterday.
Guarded closely by Cedric Harris, Jackson took a wild, off-balance three-pointer that landed about 4 feet short of the basket. Eargle, however, got the rebound and his putback with one second left gave the Raiders a 60-58 victory in the opening game of the National City Classic in Value City Arena.
Quote:
Jackson, a 6-foot-4 junior guard, scored 21 points for Harding (10-0).

This past Saturday, Jackson totaled 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals in a 60-58 victory over Zanesville. WGH improved to 10-0, while Zanesville dropped to 11-1.

Hey Worm do you have any idea on the interest that Jackson is getting and whether or not he is going to play football next year?

As of right now, Jackson has offers from Indiana, Wisconsin, Kent State, Akron, several MAC schools, etc. Ohio State is watching him closely, but I believe that they want to see a lot more than him before they offer (if they do). Transfering to WGH has helped because Warren JFK doesn't play against many good teams (WGH rolls JFK every year).

Jackson is averaging 13.4 points per game, and I'm guessing around 5-6 assists a game. He's not in a position where he has to score 20+ points a game for WGH to win, so don't expect Jackson to post Koufos/Diebler type numbers every game. With that being said, he has the ability to take over games when needed, which is what he did against Zanesville. The more successful WGHG is this seasson, the better it will get for Jackson because it will show what kind of leader he can be.

As far as football goes, it's still up in the air. He kind of wanted to play this past season, but he decided to stick to one sport for now. I know that a lot of people hound him about playing football, but I don't as long as he is happy (I'm tight with his whole family). He's "entertained" the thought of playing football again, but he's focused on basketball season right now. I'm sure that WGH fans would love to see him on the gridiron, but there is a HUGE difference between playing football at WGH than JFK. I know that Duane Long is really high on him as a football prospect, but we'll have to see what happens.

Thanks for the reply...I think the staff is trying to be selective with the 09' class b/c they only have 2 schollies at the most and they for sure need a big...So they are waiting on some other guys to show their hand before they start offering other wings...

I also liked his film on the gridiron, but with him having big time offers in the bball if that is his first love I guess there is no reason to risk that with injury...

Man, I had some photos from this game but my sd card got corrupted.

Desmar was very smooth and had a deadly runner from anywhere within 15 feet. One heck of a game against Zanesville overall (team vs team) for the audience.
