He's kind of like Derek Rose. If Rose had been able to go to the NBA right out of HS, I think he would have made as big an impact that he had with his one year in college. |

Does anyone here believe Wall is better at this stage than Mike Conley?
I actually think Wall is more athletic and a better perimeter shooter......does that mean he will not struggle as a rookie in the NBA......I would bet he does........history reflects that.......Conley struggled a bit during his rookie season.........some of that is due to the players around the point guard.......... |

Kobe Are you aware that there is a guy who is going to skip his last year of high school to go play in Europe.Last edited by LitlBuck; 04-23-2009 at 03:07 PM. |

Lebron was just ready and not from a talent standpoint alone. His size and maturity allowed him to thrive. If John Wall is a once-in-a-lifetime player (not just point guard), then he might be ready. But if not, he's better served to go play some college ball for a couple of years and hone his game. And that guy whose going to Europe??? Ask him to check with Brandon Jennings and see how easy it is to fit in as a teenager in a strange country where you will have difficulty even communicating on the court. |

You haven't seen many high school basketball players then.

Funny how that is considering all of the high school players other than Lebron who have taken the NBA by storm right out of the gate...
I guess I should watch more high school and less NBA.Even most of the general managers that have been depantsed picking high school players in the past only took the risk because they were afraid they could be passing on the next Kobe or KG. The fact is that too many people were saying the same things about Wall after watching film of him against high school that they were Sebastian Telfair or even Kwame Brown, Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Desagana Diop... None of those guys were ready, but people thought they were or thought they couldn't afford to pass up on them just in case. That kind of thinking got people fired. |

While I completely agree that Wall should go to college for atleast a year, I think that if he wanted and could go to the NBA right now he would be ready. I also think he would be a Top #3 pick.
He's a more explosive Derrick Rose. Obviously, Rose is getting it done at the NBA level and last year in the college game, but Wall is an outstanding athlete. Not only is he terrifying when driving to the basket, but he can dish the ball out to his teammates like he has eyes in the back of his head. He has the elite speed and athleticism to push the tempo at ANY level, now its just a matter of working on his overall game and basketball IQ. I firmly believe that with a season or 2 of college basketball and good coaching, he will be the #1 pick in the draft and make a Derrick Rose/Chris Paul - like impact in the NBA. |

Wow! hope this kid isn't stupid. The way he is talked about helping whatever team he joins next season, you get the feeling he is going to be the next Carmelo Anthony. Makes you appreciate LeBron even more now, having all the hype and looks like he is one of the most humble sports stars there is. Wall has to bright of a future to start screwing up now.
