New wrinkle in Tiger offense gives Turner a chance at quarterback
By CHRIS EASTERLING

A season-long struggle for Massillon coach Tom Stacy has been trying to get his skill players involved in the offense.
From the start, DeVoe Torrence has managed to get his touches as the Tigers? starting tailback. In Week Five against Mentor, they showcased a power-I formation which allowed K.J. Herring a chance to carry the ball as a halfback, a change which has brought positive results.
But the problem which continued to arise was finding a spot for the Tigers? third tailback, Justin Turner.
Turner was getting plenty of playing time at cornerback, but struggling to find a way into the offensive rotation. Through the first six games, he had just five carries for 19 yards ? mostly on end-arounds or receiver counters ? as well as two catches for 17 yards.
?We?ve wanted to get J.T. involved with our offense all year,? Stacy said Thursday as he prepared for Saturday?s contest with McKinley at Fawcett Stadium. ?When you?re an I-formation team, it?s difficult. He?s not a fullback. He can play wide receiver, but I think it?s difficult to play wide receiver and defensive back and tailback. I just think it?s really difficult to learn all of those.?

Tigers? Turner to get national stage
By CHRIS EASTERLING
Chris.Easterling@IndeOnline.com
About 500 high-school football players will congregate in San Antonio in early January to participate in the U.S. Army National Combine. Among that group will be Massillon junior tailback/defensive back Justin Turner, who earned an invitation to join the exclusive group.
?It?s saying I?m one of the top players in the nation,? Turner said. ?Growing up in small Massillon, and being nationally known, that?s great.?
The combine will run from Jan. 3-5 at the Alamodome. It will be run in conjunction with the All-American Bowl, which will be played on Jan. 5.

Turner is considered one of the top juniors in Ohio, with colleges from all over looking at him. Ball State and Toledo are the only schools, as of now, with offers on the table as of now.
That said, Turner believes offers much, much bigger are on their way.
?I?m supposed to get offers from Ohio State and Michigan in February,? Turner said. ?I think I?m just going to wait until the beginning or middle of December to commit.
?Deciding if I want to commit early or not,? Turner said, ?that?s a big deal.?
Turner admits the process hasn?t been too bad so far. A big reason for that is that he has tried to bounce a lot of things off of former Tiger teammate Brian Gamble ? who is now at the University of Illinois.
?I?ve talked to him about everything,? Turner said. ?I?ve talked to him about the recruiting services. I think I?ve adjusted well to it. I?m comfortable with it.?

Quote:
By Bill Kurelic, Recruiting Analyst

What will be the fallout from Lloyd Carr's resignation in regards to recruiting? That question can't be entirely answered at this point. In fact it will be quite awhile before it can. But at least one of the top juniors in the Buckeye State says Michigan was his favorite, but not anymore. Now that Lloyd Carr has resigned one of the top Ohio class of 2009 prospects says Ohio State heads his list.

Well hopefully that Offer comes around signing day for him, as he was told. Just bring him in and figure out where he's best at. I love his prospects at RB, though.
