You have been hyping up this kid from day one. You posted 204 tackles last year. That panned out to be just exaggerated hype. I have a hard time believing the he is faster, stronger than threads you post. The facts are Storm has a scholarship in his back pocket (OSU and Akron), Will does not. Storm also was invited to the Army combine with the other hand full of kids.

here are some of the measurables that will be completed at the Army All American Combine. This will be held in January 4th at the Alamodome unless otherwise noted. At That time, even though the results are not made public to media, we will know how both Will and Storm performed. I am sure that they both will represent Ohio well.

Body Measurements
• Height - Height and weight measurements determine a player's size. Height is measured to 1/8th of an inch accuracy.
• Weight - Weight is measured to the nearest pound.
• Reach Measurement - Highest reach is measured with one arm fully extended over head (dominant arm).
• Body Photo - The body portrait provides a visual image of a player's body type and build. Players are photographed from the front only.
Physical Tests
• 40 Yard Dash - The 40 yard dash is a measure of straight ahead speed. Each player runs twice. Two times are recorded for each run.
• 20 Yard Short Shuttle (5-10-5) - The 20 yard short shuttle is a measure of quickness. Each player is timed twice, once to the left and once to the right. Both times are recorded.
• Vertical Jump - The vertical jump is a measure of lower body strength. The test is conducted using the Vertec measuring device. Each player jumps twice. The highest jump is scored.
• 185lb. Bench Press (optional and conducted during registration – Thursday, January 3, 2008) - The 185 pound bench press is a measure of upper body strength. Each player completes as many repetitions as possible.

So I ask the noobs to refrain from further critique as they have already been expressed by all of the experts here.

Studlien and defensive back Derek Jones each had interceptions. Baer recovered two fumbles and defensive lineman Shane Hubbard recovered one.
“Anytime you’re facing a mid-line option, you know it’s all about responsibility,” Studlien said. “We came out disciplined and ready to play because we know how good they are. I can’t say enough about the boys up front. The hogs up front played really well.”

Well, Since I never witnessed all of those 204 tackles last year, all I can go by is what his coach, family and Will personally told me.

I did watch him have 19 (he didn't play any of the 4th period ) last Friday night though.....

Will and his Big walnut Eagles advance to the DIII State Finals to face Storm Klein and the Licking Valley Panthers.

Big walnut's defense led by Studlein was amazing against Monroe. They made all the big plays needed and that was the difference of this game.

“They’re just a good team,” Monroe head coach Jason Krause said. “Their kids are fast and strong and they played well. Their schemes were good and they were beating us man-to-man at times. Even the second level runs that Ferguson usually takes, further (he couldn’t). They are good tacklers. One time, (Junior LB, William) Studlien tackled Fergie with one arm. We haven’t seen anyone do anything like that all year. He was player of the year in his district for good reason.

Congrats to The Big Walnut Eagles and The Licking Valley Panthers for getting to this point. It says so much for the quality of football in Central Ohio.

Will, you are a great role model for our community, we are so proud of you for everything that you do. The kids love you! Oh Yeah Thanks to you, I'm gonna have to be driving to Westerville for Rugby practice.

Eastmoor Academy running back Isaiah Pead, Big Walnut linebacker Will Studlien and Canal Winchester coach Phil Mauro were among the major award winners on the Associated Press Division III All-Ohio high school football teams announced yesterday.

Studlien, who had 145 tackles, including eight for minus yardage, shared defensive player of the year with defensive back Tony Stover of Canal Fulton Northwest.

I watched the game. I was very impressed with Studlien. He looks like he will be a good recruiting target for next year.

As far as LB play today, Will outperformed Storm. He was always getting up from the bottom of the pile, normally right along with Storm. I loved his energy, he was constantly pumping up his teammates and the crowd at every chance. He already has good size, and he still has another year to grow before getting into college.

Storm had a great day on the offensive side of the ball, especially running against 9 (or 10) in the box, but he did not do much at LB today.

I'll take both of them

It was great to watch both Storm and Will. In all fairness to Storm, he wasn't given much an opportunity to showcase his LB skill as BW was unable to get beyond the line of scrimmage most of the night. With LV smashmouth offense, it gave way to a battle between RB and LB giving Will a chance to showcase his D.

Very true. I think they said BW had something like 3 first downs the whole game. Not many plays beyond the LOS. LV, on the other hand, had just under 60 rushing attempts.

I think it also had to be a factor that Storm carried so many times. 33 carries, and over 50% of his team's total yardage, would wear anyone out to not be as active on defense.

At this point, I'd like to see them both in 2010 and beyond, racing to get to the ball-carrier

After watching that game today, I think Will is next year's version of Michael Zordich... Not the biggest or fastest guy out there, but a leader, warrior, and extremely tough and hard-nosed football player... I'd be all for finding a spot for him in our class next season...
