From the OSU site...has been hearing from West Virginia, Illinois, Akron, South Carolina (offered), Bowling Green and OSU. Has been told by the OSU staff that he needs to get some things taken care of in the classroom.

Peterman Wants To Be A Gamecock
By Phil Kornblut
DB Dale Peterman (5-11 175) of Youngstown, OH said Friday he and his family have decided USC is the best place for him, and he hopes to commit to the Gamecocks next month. "I talked with coach Ced (Williams) today and we want to commit to South Carolina," Peterman said. "He wants me to come down there and make it official in person. I plan to come down to a camp and talk more with the coaches, and that's when I'm going to commit. I want to be around a coaching staff where I feel at home. The coaches seem real nice, they seem like a family down there. And I would rather play in the SEC than the Big 10. It's a faster game." Peterman has offers from USC, West Virginia, Bowling Green and Akron. But he did not make it down for the USC spring game, so the Gamecocks have not been able to evaluate him in person. He would have to pass their evaluation before his commitment would be accepted. Peterman also is hearing from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio State, Penn Staste, Pittsburgh and Purdue. Coaches from Pittsburgh, West Virginia Penn State, Wisconsin and Purdue have been by the school this week. Last season Peterman had 39 tackles with four interceptions and eight passes broken up as a cornerback.

He could see some very big names from all conferences showing interest in him.

He better hope he passes SC's "evaluation" or he may find that those slow Big 10 teams think he's too fast to play for them.
