Early TE targets look to be Hazelett and Sims... and both would be very nice to have.

I didn't realize that there were rules of sitting out a year even during high school. Any word on his schools of interest?

He projects as a WR despite his size. Think Stoney...

As for schools of interest...neither Rivals nor Scout list any schools of interest. In an interview with his father it is obvious Dion first has to decide if he will play football or basketball. A school that offers him in both could have an advantage. He loves Georgia Tech because of family in the area and Atlanta. The in-state schools will also be involved.

His dad sounds like a great guy and really has a good grasp on the recruiting process and how to help his son make the best decision.

That's great to hear. Hopefully his dad will be XP v2.0?

Seems a little thick for a SG. I think this may all go back to... how many 6'5" SGs are out there vs. the number of 6'5" 230lb WR/TE? Hopefully Aaron Gant and Taurian Washington can be good influences as they tell Dion their experiances of the change from St. Mary's to OSU.

Maybe I am missing your point but there are tons of 6'5" SGs nowadays...and Dion projects as a 2/3 in basketball, although his father thinks he has a better shot of making it as a football player given his combination of size and speed. He would probably slim down a little if he were going the basketball route. 230 lbs. sounds more like his football playing weight. OSU has recruited almost nothing but 6'5"+ combos lately:

Buford - 6'5"
Pryor - 6'6"
Cheek - 6'5"
Henry - 6'6"
Edward - 6'5"
McDonald - 6'4"
Thomas - 6'6"

I saw someone compare Sims' combination of athleticism and size to Pryor...only in the mold of a WR. I don't know if he is quite that athletic but he is very impressive. He idolizes Calvin Johnson, who was of a similar frame and size.

Gotcha...although there are some oversized WRs out there...it is becoming more and more common to see a 6-5+ 220+ WR:

Calvin Johnson
Jake Stoneburner
Adarius Bowman
Mario Urrutia
Jaison Williams
Marcus Monk

If his dad works for Michigan and he has a Michigan offer I would doubt the Buckeyes would have very much of a shot.

If we turned the tables and I worked at OSU and my son was a football talent worthy of D1 scholarship and he was even considering Michigan... he would be homeless pretty quick :-)

Well, he wouldn't be homeless very long. If he waits to commit until NSD he can basically head right on over to the dorms and live there .

watchinyall could go either way
Exclamation watchinyall

As far as I know, Dion lives with his mother and step father. So the comment about him being homeless, in regards to his father working for michigan, I would think - that would be irrelevent!!
