From O&B News...Illinois is still recruiting him hard, and he is also talking to South Carolina and Clemson. Says he is not sure if he will make visits to other schools...but says OSU is still the best choice for him.

Green would of been one of our commits I thought would have never wavered. Though he is a legacy, I believe he'll stay a Buckeye. Clemson and Ill really don't scare, I think it would take alot to lure him away from tOSU.

I agree. His brother is the biggest reason he stays with OSU IMO even though he iis still looking around. I love this kid on film.

When it comes to Illinois recruiting, I don't think you can count the coaches out with anybody.

I have heard rumors about Justin Green, who is a star at Louisville Male. He apparently likes the Illinois coaches and wants to reopen his recruiting. If that happens, my guess is he'll pick Illinois. Rarely do you see the guy who opens his recruiting go back to the original school, though it can happen.

No ... rarely does it make news, but it happens all of the time. On the current Buckeyes roster, Jamario O'Neal, Alex Boone, J.B. Shugarts, Brian Rolle, and Doug Worthington all re-opened their respective recruitments to some extent after having committed to Ohio State ... and that list doesn't even take into consideration all of the Glenville kids who silently verballed to Ohio State early in the process and then proceeded to take official visits and "waver" on their commitments.

Last season, half of Miami's recruits declared themselves "soft verbals" almost immediately after committing ... and then in the end they all signed with the 'Canes.

More wishful thinking from the Illini ... if Green goes anywhere besides Ohio State, look for it to be somewhere quite a bit south of Champaign.

Exactly why this site allows me to have a good productive day of work without allowing the necessary whims and fancies of 17 & 18 yr old kids to keep me eyeballing a revolver or a window ledge. From the Clemson site. Green may take a visit to Clemson, but that's it. He always wanted to be a Buckeye and is all Ohio State right now, and says that it would take a whole lot to change that.

Forget about speed killing. This season it's going to be absolutely thrilling for Louisville-area high school football fans.

Speedy running backs are nothing new to the area, but the senior quartet of Male's Justin Green, St. Xavier's Deuce Finch, Trinity's Tim Phillips and North Bullitt's Dalton Cissell might be the fastest and most talented group in recent memory.

The track star

You might know Green (5 feet 10, 180 pounds) more for his exploits on the track than the football field. He won four titles -- athletes are limited to four events -- at the Class 3-A championships in June, taking the 100-, 200- and 400-meter crowns and anchoring Male's victorious 1,600 relay team.

Bob Redman has coached his share of stars in 17 seasons as Male's football coach and said Green ranks high.

"He's right up there with the best of them, and he has more speed than all of them," Redman said. "He's the fastest kid I've ever coached. ? If we get him one-on-one in open space, he has a chance to score. He'll have the ball in his hands a lot."

Green did not play football as a sophomore while recovering from a head injury he suffered during a freshman game. But he came back strong last season, rushing for 1,648 yards and 29 touchdowns while helping the Bulldogs go 10-3.

He has committed to Ohio State, where he's expected to play cornerback. Redman has moved Green to linebacker this season because of his physical nature.

"That's one thing people don't really understand about Justin: He's one of the biggest hitters I've had," Redman said. "He'll flat put it on you."

Green said he likes the move.

"It's a lot more tiring chasing people around the field (as a defensive back)," he said. "I get to be caught up in the mess now."

Still, Green knows the Bulldogs will need him most as a scoring threat out of the backfield.

"I'm kind of an undersized running back, but I'm a physical back," he said. "I like to be physical and don't shy away from contact. Then I try to use my speed to get me where I'm going."

This might settle some nerves but his elder brother, Marcus, was on the Columbus local pregame TV station yesterday. I know it is not Justin but I do not think his brother would let him go any place else besides Ohio State and he did that say a word about Justin. It was just the way he talked. He seemed very very happy to be back on campus and works in commercial real estate.
