From IrishEyes.com...Jenkins has a visit planned with Notre Dame later this month. Also mentions that he will try and make it up to see Ohio State.

Why would he even bother to come to tOSU? Seems like there's no point and I'm surprised if the staff is even in contact anymore.

Dorian is obviously an incredible linebacker, but Jenkins is a freak of nature, IMO. He is remarkably fast and agile and hits like a truck. Even when he's carrying the ball out of the backfield you can tell he just wants to smack someone. You can't go wrong with either of them, but I was as impressed with Jenkins' film as any backer I've seen in the past couple years. I'd still take him as long as it wouldn't alienate the guys that have already signed on at linebacker. The one thing I wonder about is the level of competition Jenkins faces. I'm not familiar with his high school, so I have no idea how good those players are that he's steamrolling in the film. On the other hand, we all know that Monroeville is about as good as it gets, so I guess that makes Bell's performance all the more impressive. Has Jenkins outgrown the possibility of strong safety at this point? I know it had been discussed in the past that he could possibly play there.

To answer your question on the level of competition Jenkins faces...very competitive football conference and non-league schedule as well. Most of those highlights you see of Jenkins are against DeMatha...they played them 4 times during his Sophmore and Junior years. DeMatha finished the 06 season ranked in the Top 10 in several National polls and remained in the Top 10 in 07' until Jenkins team beat them in their first meeting. They also played St. John's 4 times during those seasons...St. John's sends about 6-8 players to Top DI schools every year...there lineman especially. They also played Dunbar, the best public school team in D.C. and a Gonzaga team that sent 7 guys to DI on football scholarships last year...and one of the best public schools in Virginia...Robinson.

What's even more impressive about Jenkins is that all of those highlights were filmed of Jenkins while he was 14 + 15 years old! He did not turn 16 until early summer of 08. Wait til this kid fills out!
