Wadc, is Hunter a guy you will wait on or could his spot be filled by someone else?? I am not sure how many cornerbacks you guys are taking but you seem to be filling up quickly.

Haven't seen offers on him but encouraging to be in his top four, even though its almost impposible. to get a kid out of Ohio with a Buckeye offer.

Hmm, well let's see. Indiana gives D.J. a GREAT shot at early playing time. I bet he has a great relationship with their coaches and players, probably likes their facilities and campus, and overall feels comfortable with them. That would lead to them being a leader, with us, for his services.

They can also sell the "we want you to help us continue to build our program" speech. They did make a bowl game. Indiana as a program has potential but they need continued sucess to reach a consistent level. Players like D.J could help them do that.

Indiana has been to one bowl game in 14 years, and nine total in their history. Two Big Ten championships in their entire history ('45 and '67). They've finished ranked twice (#20 coaches in '87, and #20 AP and #19 coaches in '88) since 1979. We do more in a three-year span--the minimum he'd have to play--than Indiana has done throughout their entire football existance.

Indiana also hasn't had a DB drafted since 1996, and have seven drafted since 1937 (earliest year that NFL.com has listed). That's a DB every decade. We've had six drafted in the last decade and 34 total.

And while all that is true, they also went to a bowl game last year and are going to have a corner drafted on the first day this year. So while everything you said is valid, they can point to last year and a new coach and possibly convince someone like DJ that he can be a huge part of the program's rise from mediocrity. DJ probably doesn't care what happened before he was born, at least not nearly as much as he would care what happened in the very recent history of the program.

They barely made it to a bowl game last year...by the skin of their teeth. The closest thing that Indiana has had to a sustained "rise from mediocrity" in their entire history was an eight-year stretch from 1987-1994 when they had six winning seasons...still, even their best year in that stretch was 8-3-1 in 1988. We have three losses in a season and fans are freaking out...Indiana's three-loss season is their only one in the last 40 years (they were 9-2 in 1967). We're #3 all-time in winning percentage...Indiana is #115 out of #119. Ohio State and Indiana are about as polar opposites as you can get.

Wow, touchy today are we Mili? geez, lol. I don't think anybody here is going to argue that Indiana and Ohio State are even remotely close when it comes to accomplishments, winning seasons and tradition.
