Says the Miami(FL) are his #1 choice right now (well, then it was at least --- this is 2 weeks ago before the Bryce Brown commitment today, so maybe that has changes... maybe not) but is still waiting on an offer. Lists Ohio State, Florida, Clemson, Texas and Rutgers as schools of interest. Holds offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia and Rutgers.

Lamar is the top RB in Florida. The tides are turning for us recruiting the state, especially down South. Getting Sabino and Howard from the Miami area is/was HUGE for the program. We have a VERY strong presence in the area as well and our staff has become VERY well respected by the coaches down there. He is interested in us and, unless there are some MAJOR grade/personal issues he needs to deal with first (from what is said int he article linked, Lamar seems like a great kid and great student -- he realizes the importance of his grades), I cannot imagine us not having interest in Lamar. Flat out, he's a player, a PTPer. Distance could be a factor here though....

Miami fans think he will also commit to Miami in a few weeks. They want to take 3 RBs in this class. I don't know why all these runningbacks would go there but USC does it so why can't Miami I guess.

Cougars' Miller makes run for greatness

Lamar Miller has left a lasting impression around the state after only one full varsity season at Killian.
His coaches won't hesitate to proclaim him the best back in Florida.
At least one high school football publication has named him the top overall junior prospect in the state.
And although they are not allowed to extend a formal scholarship offer yet, the universities of Miami, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina and Georgia are already coveting his services in two years.
''Lamar's a special athlete,'' Killian coach Steve Smith said. ``He has all the physical tools to be one of the best this county has ever had.''

Lamar plays 6A football in the state of Florida. This is the highest classification and has the best talent. I just want you guys to realize this when you watch his film.

Wow, that is an interesting update on Miller. I would love to see him go to USF, however unlikely. Landing a player of Miller's caliber alongside some of the other guys they have pulled in already this season could really propel the Bulls toward an end that would have people referring to the "Big 4" in Florida as opposed to the "Big 3." He's a kid whose recruitment has implied he wants to stay in Florida (I thought he would end up at Miami for sure) and I'm not so sure USF isn't a more stable situation than FSU right now, plus Tampa is closer to his home than Tallahassee or UF. Going from South Florida to the panhandle is essentially like attending school out-of-state, and Gainesville is only about 2 hours closer. Tallahassee is like an 8-9 hour drive for family, and the panhandle is more like southern Georgia than anything else. Plus, he'll be sitting behind Rainey for a while if he goes to UF, whereas he could play right away for Big East titles and BCS births at USF. This should be interesting. Do we have any posters from the Miami-Dade area that are have any insight?

This guy's only real weakness is he really doesn't like to run straight ahead through the line, like off guard, but rather tries to run on sweeps to the outside and find a hole. He beat up Jaamal Berry's Palmetto team, and my alma mater twice this past year, only to have himself get bottled up against eventual state runner-up Northwestern, a game I was at. Expect to see him on special teams duty immediately at Miami and challenging for the starting spot, assuming Bryce Brown doesn't come (or doesn't live up to expectations), he probably has the most current talent among Miami's RBs.
