This young man may have a bright future in sales, it appears he refuses to take no for an answer

He and Hall looked pretty darn good together in the AAA game. |

Would it be such a no-no for the program, to bring Morgan in for a visit, try to wow him on OSU, and then work out the particulars( whether they be enrollment, prep school, or Columbus State), for getting him into a Buckeye uniform? |

If it would be done, why not with a player who so obviously wants to be a Buckeye (not to mention so physically unique)... may become a necessary evil in the future with Dick Rod raiding JuCos from coast to coast as scUM academic elitist alums pull their hair out and roll over in their graves.

I don't think Moses "so obviously wants to be a Buckeye" as one put it, as much as this is just a further sign of the extreme due diligence he's been doing throughout this process. I don't think he's been to Columbus yet (which would contradict one of the points in the Coyer thread about no offers without some kind of visit first unless Moses was up for a camp or junior day or something.) He's visited tons of places - was in Knoxville last weekend even though his Tennessee recruiter was Latrell Scott - who is now at UVA. |

Where I am ultimately going with this is we all know OSU is doing a good job of raising its admissions standards for both that of its general population and its athletes (most notably football); and most importantly to the issue of recruiting OSU admission standards are higher than NCAA standards. I am greatful for the job that both JT and our school have done to try to raise the academic profile of our recruits. Thus I am interested in knowing more about the standards that UVA and UNC (particuarly UVA) might have for its recruits which are above NCAA standards. Are these higher standards test scores and/or class rank? Do they have a class ranking requirement? I agree with you and I know that UVA's standards are higher than that of the NCAA, I am just looking for specifics while still knowing that every school has made at least one exception at some point. |

I imagine that almost every school takes a chance on a kid once in a while. The Buckeyes won't invite Moses for an official visit until he can make it through admissions. Hence, no "official offer", so I am changing the thread title to "verbal offer". Last edited by LordJeffBuck; 01-31-2009 at 05:24 PM. |

Moses needs to be allowed to visit, and if he does...OSU would shoot to the top of his list..... If he is willing to wait past signing day to get his school work in line so he can visit...that tells me he wants to be a Buckeye badly |

I don't know what makes you think OSU would suddenly shoot to the top of his list, except for blind faith that he couldn't possibly not fall in love the moment he set foot on campus. Moses would play much earlier at UVA than at OSU - something he's expressed the desire to do. His parents would get to see him play every game at UVA, something they've expressed the desire to do. And dare I say it, Al Groh has a much better track record at sending OL to the NFL than does Tressel - something that's surely on Moses' mind as well. Lastly, you were in such a hurry to refute my first post that you missed my second. He will not be waiting til after NLOID. The announcement comes Wednesday at 1. With no room for a visit any more, it's basically down to UNC and UVA.....and I have a very good feeling about this one. |

I've followed "Moses' recruiting in general", not "Moses and Ohio State." He's mentioned wanting to take a visit there for a while, which is pretty significant by his standards, but never (to my knowledge) has he indicated OSU as the leader. OSU can't top UVA in the three factors I mentioned, so, other than the tendency of recruits to speak very highly of the place they were just in, what about an OSU visit would put OSU automatically at the top?
