After 4 years of going to Navy games all over the country (when I was a student) I highly encourage all the cheering you can muster! Keep up the great attitude and go Bucks! (and Navy!)

Absolutely wear the uniform if allowed. That would be completely and totally awesome.

Not sure about current Naval policy, but when I was active duty Air Force up through 2001 the wearing of the uniform at sporting events was authorized, and even encouraged to an extent.

Any word on how many Navy Cadets will attend? That would be impressive to see a squadron or two enter Ohio Stadium in formation. I hope our Buck fans do stand and applaud the Navy team's entrance.

I am not exactly sure about the policy, but I will try to read on something. We are not supposed to go to restaurants (sit down type) in uniform, but I haven't looked into it in a while. I'd break policy to wear my uniform, hell, make it Military Day at the 'Shoe and all members wear their uniforms!

You're not supposed to eat at sit-down restaurants in BDUs or utility uniforms (although aircrews seem to get away with wearing their flight suits). Normal duty uniforms are fine. That was the policy for the Air Force.

The Army is different...I see Army personnel all over the place here in their BDUs. I've even seen them travel on commercial airlines in them. I guess that's because the public image if the U.S. Army is that of the BDU.

I'd guess the Navy wouldn't have a problem with their personnel attending a major college football game in their duty whites, especially a game involving their Navy team on major television....gets them some really good representation.

A former coach/teacher of mine has his nephew profiled in that article. Really great to hear about him since it's been a few years of lost contact. I can guarantee that he would get the biggest kick out of being cheered in the Horseshoe. This is an Ohio boy who grew up dreaming of Ohio State football, like all of us. Here is the policy, doesn't look good, but for a game like this, I'd be willing to break the rules!

Here's a link to the Naval Academy's roster. Looks like 8 players on the team are from Ohio, including 2 from Westerville. I'm sure it will be quite exciting for the young men from Navy, but after the things they go through at the academy, I certainly won't expect them to be awestruck. They'll be prepared to put up a good fight.
