Uh, a football game is not "commercial interests". It's a "sporting event" or "public event". Check with your shirt...

It'll be hostile until it becomes a snoozer. But somehow I don't think it'll become all that much of a snoozer...

It feels like a game against YSU to me. Lots of OSU fans with admiration or friends/family involved in the military, no bad blood between the schools/fans (unlike some ohio MAC schools), a backstory built around respect for their program (JT vs service), etc.
As long as OSU doesn't come out flat, I see it playing out about like Pitt-Navy 08. |

Rutgers booed Navy last year.

One of these days, it will be time to take Fredo fishing. We have let the Fredos of Ohio off way too easy lately, and it's time one of them cast their bait and said Hail Mary.
As for Navy however, I am really looking forward to seeing the FA/18 flyover (I hope ESPN shows it). I am looking forward to the pre-game handshake. I am looking forward to seeing John Glenn Dot the I (I hope ESPN shows it). And I hope that there will be Youtube coverage of the singing of the Alma Maters. I would not blame Navy if they didn't want to participate in the singing of both as they do with Army. That is a sacred tradition for them and it is not our place to impose on it. But it would be really cool if they went along with it. Last edited by DaddyBigBucks; 08-27-2009 at 09:25 PM. Reason: Added John Glenn reference |

If John Glenn gets to dot the 'i', you'll see it. |

As a veteran, I am delighted to see that the Buckeyes will be great hosts to Navy.
I just hope that Tress doesn't overdo the respect angle and let these guys stay in the game too long. I'd like to see our guys get lots of reps but see the second string get lots of playing time as well. |
