The D really needs to be aware of Aric Page this week. HB/WR hybrid who isn't large, but has wheels and skills. Could keep Hines on him or something. Their offense runs a spread style, and obviously this DL can get pressure, so we should see lots of press coverage 2 deep; imo. Definitely zone blitzes to keep them guessing, but this D looks strong and athletic in space.

After Toledo put up 54 points and about 600 yards on Colorado, this game suddenly interests me. The Rockets aren't a total patsy this year. High-powered spread offense versus smash-mouth defense - Bucks still win, but this should be a fun game to watch.

I think Toledo will have some big plays but I also think they will turn the ball over alot. Our team is gonna either come out flat and play sloppy from the emotional let down or take out this weeks loss on Toledo.

I don't know if we'll see an emotional drop this week, I don't know if Tressel will let them settle for that with how well they played. This will be a statement game for this season though. With this being the third different offense in three weeks, flexbone, PA Pro-style, now Spread whatever, the guys will need to stay focused and spend some time in the film room.
Obviously Toledo is not a team to overlook. 624 total yards is something to get your attention, as LJB mentioned. 319 through the air and 305 on the ground is a productive game, to say the least. RB DaJuane Collins with 20 car. for 160 rushing, QB Aaron Opelt 9 car. for 109 rushing, and Eric Page 3 catches for 138 receiving are the top three producers. I like the push the DL was able to produce against SC, so hoping that they can reenact that, the overall speed of this D has me less concerned than in the past playing these types of offenses, this is Toledo. Not Florida. Tackling in space also looked good against SC, and that will be imperative against the Rockets. Ohio State needs to limit the big plays in this game, and all should be fine. I won't be expecting many three and outs, but I do not expect 600+ total yards either. tOSU should be able to contain and keep the play in front, I feel we'll see press coverage, and with Thad's great pass rush off the edge, it will force some timing mistakes. The offense should produce as well. Colorado racked up 451 yards against Toledo with 356 coming through the air. I don't think Toledo will hold tOSU to less than 100 yards rushing like they did the Buffs, or like SC did, so I would like to see this season's first 100-yard rusher this game. I like the spread looks, I like the shotgun sets, and getting these young receivers in space, a lot like 05-06. At times TP looked good passing, the touch, velocity, and footwork were there, other times not so much. I do think he needs to be more decisive with his running as well. The 3rd and 18 conversion was how he needs to run, attacking. Occasionally it seems he looks to get the edge instead of getting N/S, but when he was determined, he saw the hole, planted, cut hard, and had the longest run of the night; I'd like to see him do that more often. This game will say a lot about the make up of this team. Will they be able to finally but away an opponent, or will they leave the opportunities on the field for the opposition to creep back late? It's hard to tell based from the first to games where that did happen, but I would like to think this team will finally click and get the big plays it needs to shut the door and play with the ferocity we know they're capable of. We saw what they can do in the SC game, now, we need to see how they'll respond. Will we see them come out furious and attack, or sluggish with mental mistakes and let things slip away? Early prediction, but we'll see how the week progresses. I haven't seen the offense come together late in the game like they should, but I think the D will force turnovers and field position will play a role again. Toledo 14-21 tOSU 28-34

I rarely ever do score predictions. Don't know why I did on this one, just trying to move on. But I am looking forward to this game, as I believe the team is. This will be a game that shows that either this team can gel after a tough loss, or will wallow like some of the fans have been. Honestly, I don't see it happening, but I also haven't seen the killer instinct yet. I hope this game can be a turning point for this season where the team decides to not [censored] around anymore and get that push, that extra yard, that [censored]ing TD in the redzone. This team has too much talent to be settling for [censored]ing FG's anymore. I want to see some execution inside the 20 that leads to production in 6 points and not 3. Most efficient redzone O last year, least amount of TD's says a lot. Time to put up or shut up.

I like the D formations we've seen this season, with the 3-4 style having Thad or whoever playing the hybrid LB/DE. At first I thought with the talent and depth of the DL, it wouldn't translate well, but with Heyward and others in the middle, it's worked out pretty well so far. Navy and USC are some great tests. I'm surprised with how well this D has played against those teams. Now, it's time to see how well they play against a spread offense. I think they'll be fine, not having to play strict assignment D. The speed is there, the tackling in space is there, can't wait to see it again this week. The pass rush was good against a stellar SC OL, so I would expect it to be there against Toledo. Let's see the Silver Bullets again!

So a 60 yard QB draw TD makes up about 55 percent of his rushing yardage. I don't see that happening much against tOSU either, but I do envision a lot of dink and dunk [censored]. Short to intermediate passing, D needs to stay close and interfere with the timing. This will be a good preview for The Game.
