A seeder is one who has the download and keeps the vuze program open to allow others to copy from him.
A leecher is a downloader. Once your download is down it will automatically switch to seeding uhtiul you stop it.

To expound more on BB's explanation: The way I understand it, you are simultaneously a seeder and leecher with what you have downloaded already. In other words, people are copying from you what you have already copied, even if you aren't finished.
