Top-10 prospect chooses UK Dominique Ferguson, a top-10 national prospect in the high school class of 2010, committed to Kentucky on Tuesday, the recruiting Web site Scout.com reported. Ferguson attends Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. He is an athletic 6-8 forward generally regarded among the nation's top prospects. "This is an elite-level player," recruiting analyst Dave Telep of Scout.com said. "There are commitments and elite-level commitments. ... One of the things you're going to get with him is a solid mix of post and perimeter skills." Going into this past season, the Prep Stars recruiting service rated Ferguson at No. 10 in his class. Prep Stars analyst Brick Oettinger noted Ferguson's play in an all-star event this spring in Arkansas. "He was awfully impressive," Oettinger said. Ferguson joins forward Dakotah Euton and guard K.C. Ross-Miller as players from the class of 2010 committed to Kentucky. |

With the news of Gillispie being out at UK, there's a possibility Ferguson may reopen his recruitment. I have no idea what OSU may be looking to do with any additional 'ships that may open up for 2010. I've heard they're looking at some PG's but I believe they are also still recruiting Adreian Payne. Ferguson could be an option if they want another big and Payne decides to go elsewhere.

That's why I said "with any additional 'ships that may open up for 2010". I'd say the odds that Turner and/or Buford leave after next year are pretty high.

Since Mullens is leaving don't we have one now????

Technically NO. With 5 commitments in the 2010 class, 2 open and 3 SRs using up their eligibility next season ( Hill, Simmons, Madsen ) that means zero left.
BUT, we got lucky Turner is coming back for a JR year, so his will open up. Thus they are looking at 2010 PGs and could switch that ship to Furgeson or a Center instead if they wanted. ![]() |

We would have had 5 open for 2010 with BJM going pro AND 4 SRS on next year's team in Lighty, Hill, Simmons, Madsen. But Lighty now will be a JR instead so that is one less opening. |
