My take: quarterback playing running back. He runs a 4.7. That's not just a guy timing slow; he looks like it on the field. That said, his short area quickness and moves are nothing short of phenomenal (C.J. Spiller-esque). He could be a very good running back (someone who will consistently get you four or five but won't break too many for touchdowns), but I don't know how much of a future he has at the position beyond college (granted, most college coaches won't really care). I think he gets shuffled around like what happened with Smith (Troy; remember him returning kicks?), but a smart coaching staff will strap him at quarterback and do everything they can to make him a better passer.

He is 220+ lbs and quick as a cat. He ran a 4.7 electronically timed 40 at the SPARQ combine and his tape is sick. Good enough for me.

Indeed, on STO they've shown his games during the playoffs.......he's plenty quick enough. He's a natural playmaker, put the ball in his hands and he just makes things happen. It's like watching Barkley play basketball (back in the day....dear lord, not now)...a 6'6 fat guy shouldn't dominate, yet he did. You look at Ware's 4.7 time and think he can't dominate......but he does.

P.S. - 4 or 5 a carry ain't too shabby without breaking a big one.....Jamal Lewis the last few years, Clinton Portis as well don't break big ones yet they are big time backs. If you want to be a starter, it's about consistency........Marion Barber is that way. Felix Jones is the big play threat, but not consistent enough to be a 3 down back. JT is a man that loves consistency!

I think if we can somehow get Smith, Ware, and Brown, we do it. Smith is your every down big back who can take it to the house. Ware is shifty between the tackles and versatile. Brown is a Reggie Bush type of guy who can spend more time in the slot but get 5-10 carries a game because he is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. I am still in the boat that thinks Ware is a top 75-100 player and a very key in state guy that I would hate to miss, regardless of whether we get Smith and/or Brown. I want to see us get a stronger Cincy presence.

It seems spencer was getting a great deal of one on one time with coach Davis and the North carolina Camp. he worked out with the wide recievers, then the running backs and linebackers for some reason i get giddy and amazed thinking about OSU getting this guy he is athletic enough at 5'11 220 plus pounds to be tried at so many positions such as wide reciever i dont see to many being able to do this it amazes me!

Maybe if we strike out on targeted QB's, he might see more of an opportunity here. I'm a huge Ware fan, I think he's a playmaker whenever the ball is in his hands, and after Hendrix I really wouldn't mind seeing him being given a chance to prove himself.

You don't seem to have room for 3 RB's in the '10 class. If you took 3, I would be shocked considering you have 3 LB's, an OT and DE locked up already, and have needs at DT and S. You might take 2 RB's, no more IMO if you only have 16 offers to give for '10.

Smith would be the true back. Ware an athlete. And C. Brown the hybrid slot/back.

If you look at it that way, it's easy to see those three in this class. T

Being that Spencer is one that could possibly play multiple positions for us, I think that's not quite so much a factor. For a talent like Spencer, you make room for him if he wants to come on and worry where he plays later. That said, RB is most likely the first place he'd get a crack at if he were to become a Buckeye.

Brown can also play multiple spots, RB/WR/DB so he and Ware offer the staff versatility. Smith is the only true RB we are targeting.

Jordan Hicks ran an electronically timed 4.56 40 recently and a 37" vertical FWIW. Not saying Ware is less athletic.. just putting things into perspective.

Hope we land 'em both!

Please tell me he has not completely eliminated tOSU. If he has, he seems hell-bent on getting out of Ohio.

See the problem with these updates for me is; I don't even know if he has on LSU offer in football or baseball...Plus it seems like a complete 360 from people were saying just a few months ago.

Also I've heard he may not even make it to college because of the MLB draft...

I've been hearing he really want to play baseball too, so UNC and LSU are in front because of their baseball teams and it doesn't hurt that LSU is in the championship. He has a football offer from both schools. But it's not like Bob Todd's program is bad, so I don't know, sounds like staying closer to home is no factor to him.
