He still throws the ball like he is shot-puting it but the kid is a great talent. Worked out at WR at the Michigan camp and was unreal there. Then went to QB and displayed a lot of promise there as well. Should be fun to see how he develops and if he can get rid of the VY delivery.

Regarding the video
With that delivery, I'd say Dwight Macon plays as tall as Gardner right now. He's got a little Phillip Rivers thing going on with that delivery, but he doesn't have Rivers' zip.
But he's only halfway through high school, so there's still time...and you can see the potential. |

Devin's GOT to tuck that ball away when he decides that he's gonna run it. Not sure what his stats are fumbles-wise, but goodness. When he did tuck it on the goalline, he looked like Tebow running people over. I really don't like his throwing motion either. It looks like he strains his arm to throw as hard as he does and by tweaking that throwing motion and pulling back a little further, he could throw the ball faster with less strain to his arm. That said though, that wacky throwing motion he's got is surprisingly accurate. He's puts good touch on the ball and you gotta like a duel threat QB who throws 1st and runs 2nd.
Looking forward to see how he progresses this year. |
