If Boyd lands here, is there a chance that they don't recruit any QB's in this class with the staff going after Miller in '11? Just curious.

If that's the case then you would have Boyd winning the starting position in '11 by default and having the FR Miller backing him up. I think they'll take one in '10 so there would be some competition and depth.

Devin has written offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Iowa, Purdue, Wisconsin and Cincinnati while hearing steadily from Florida, Miami, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Oregon, Wisconsin and Ohio State. He says his childhood favorite Buckeyes came by for tape and he feels his passing has improved enough to play in any offense.

I like our chances with Devin . He grew up a Buckeyes fan and we are only a hop , skip , and a jump away so his family can still attend the games . TP and Devin and possibly Taj waiting in the winds talk about a 3 headed monster .

scUM fans are drooling all over Gardner, but if he gets a tOSU offer, I think we'll be hard to beat.

It should be interesting with QB's over the next few years. TP has 3 years left, and I am not sure he would leave early. There is a huge opening, and any QB in the next 2 years will have to see that. Hopefully Miller is as big of a stud as reported, and also as big of a lock. Yet I would love to get Gardner to make sure. I could see him not redshirting, and then starting 2 years. Then Miller redshirting and also starting 2 years. It would be nice to have the QB position locked up with studs for 7 years.

Do any of those in the know think Devin gets an offer from Ohio State if/when Boyd announces this week for another school? Is he the highest rated QB prospect the OSU staff has on the board for 2010 as of now?

On the Notre Dame offer, he said, "It feels good because I thought they weren?t going to offer me anymore. I hadn?t talked to them during the season so I didn't know if they knew how I was doing, but I guess they were following."
Now up to 11 offers, he is not expected to make a decision anytime soon. He visited Michigan on Saturday for a basketball game and says he may go to junior days at Ohio State and Notre Dame and summer camps at Penn State, Florida and Miami (Fla.)

Devin Gardner (Inkster, Mich./Inkster) is the top class of 2010 quarterback in the Midwest and has the scholarship offer list to prove it. That list includes Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Purdue and Cincinnati.

Gardner's list recently added another significant member.

"Notre Dame offered me on Friday," Gardner said. "My coach told me to give them a call. I talked to Coach (Charlie) Weis and he offered. I was excited. It's really exciting."

However, Gardner says he has no plans to make a commitment anytime soon. He visited a number of schools during the football season and plans to continue to check out his options.

Gardner will either attend Notre Dame's junior day on Saturday or Ohio State's on Sunday. He also plans to visit Michigan State at the end of the month and Michigan in February.

"I don't have any favorites," Gardner said. "I won't be deciding (on a college) anytime soon."

The 6-foot-4 and 205-pound Gardner passed for 1,886 yards during his junior season. He threw for 26 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. Gardner also rushed for 1,401 yards and scored 22 times.
