By Snow....Talks about his trip to Ohio State this past weekend for the Minnesota game. Besides Ohio State, Courtney is hearing from Illinois, Louisville, Cincinnati and several other MAC schools. Says he has still not made a decision on whether he'll play football or basketball in college, but says he does not plan on playing both.

News Journal football awards: Lexington QB area's offensive standout

ONTARIO -- Courtney Avery would rather discuss Lexington's historic season than divulge his college plans.
This much is certain: Lexington's record-setting junior quarterback and the News Journal/Brown Derby Roadhouse Offensive Player of the Year soon will have to make a decision regarding his future.
Will he play football in college? Or will he decide to play basketball?
Avery isn't saying.
"Am I a football player or a basketball player? I'm an athlete who plays football and basketball," Avery said when pressed on the subject Sunday night at the annual News Journal football awards banquet at the Brown Derby Roadhouse in Ontario. "I haven't made any decisions yet."
Avery guided the Minutemen to the most successful season in school history. Lexington won its first ever Ohio Cardinal Conference championship and had the first unbeaten regular season in school history.
With Avery at the controls of north central Ohio's most prolific offense, Lexington won its first playoff game since 2001 before being knocked from the postseason by Sylvania Southview on Friday. Along the way, Avery rewrote Lexington's passing records.
He completed 122 of 166 passes for 2,095 yards during the regular season with a remarkable 21-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He was selected the OCC Offensive Player of the Year.'

From the OSU site...talks about preparing for AAU season...hearing from Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Iowa State, Northwestern and Ohio State...OSU has invited him to a spring practice and wants to see him at camp...recently visited Michigan State and Vanderbilt.

Courtney has 10 offers but is waiting to hear from some bigger programs. He is coming to the Spring Game and says Coach Johnson told him to be patient because the staff is moving very slow on offers this year.
