Me too, we need 1 TE minimum, probably 2 and Smith is easily the best TE prospect in the state, likely one of the best in the country imo. Beyond Ohio, there won't likely be many elite receiving TE's that want to play in our offense. I have Smith as the #1 guy I want to see offered next.

Definitely. Best TE prospect from Ohio since Rudolph, IMO.
I know it's only a week after signing day, but staff seems a little slow in getting the '10 offers out. I would've though that Smith, Christian Bryant and Latwan Anderson would have offers by now. |

The other reason is, IMO, that the staff is now able to make an OSU scholarship offer a commodity. Mac Brown has done this down in Austin for years now. Once you get to a certain level of football and recruiting prominence, I think you can actually make the sell to offered recruits that, hey, we don't offer just anyone. That piece of paper you're holding is a rare and valuable thing. I think this strategy can really work in the era of Rich Rodriguez and Ron Zook. If you're holding offers from Illinois, Michigan, and OSU right now, who seems to really want you more? At OSU, you're the guy they want. At Illinois and Michigan, you're one of many guys they'd take. |

Scout $
2/10 By C Smith. Michigan, Tennesse, Duke and West Virginia are among Smith's newest offers. He will take as many visits as he can, and would like to have his choice made by the start of his senior season. |

![]() Someone forgot to tell him to smile for his picture. He's got pretty good size for a tight end; anybody see him outgrowing TE and moving to tackle? Athletic big guys are hard to come by. |

Im not really anybody but I think he posesses too many tools to be an elite TE, to send him to tackle. |

Agree 100%...he will be recruited as a TE.

Usually they're about 250-260 if they're going to grow into OT's.Norwell, James, Henderson, and that new name from Minnesota are more than enough to choose from at OT. |

Hey, I was just asking. Besides after watching Boone get thoroughly embarrassed a few times I just figure you can't have too many athletic tackles.
