Same school as Zac Dysert from last year...

Just want to throw this out there...Ada doesn't play the best competition, and they now have Heath Jackson back who was Dysert's favorite receiver Heath's freshmen year...He had moved to SC and is now back...

I have not seen Faine play, but keep in mind it is the system that allows for big numbers...

Not saying Faine is bad, but this is one that we shouldn't let numbers fool us...

Probably a borderline BCS-school offer kid right now but has time to improve in many areas...

The thing with Mauk was his size IMO...IF he would of been 6-4 he would of got offers from every where...He had the arm, could read a defense and was a very tough kid...But he was only 6'...Obviously his numbers came from the system, but tools were there as well...

Faine has the size which is why the staff is taking a look at him, but his numbers don't mean automatic offer...Because of the system...

I heard this kid has serious speed to. But agree with 40 D6 and D5 schools are who ADA plays against and lot of those schools can't defend a spread. Hopeful my old high school meets them in the regional final and i can get a look at this kid.

It is the same school as Zac Dysert. Dysert is also sitting on a D1 scholarship after performing well in all of his summer combines before his Senior season. Coaching staff's will know he has played smaller schools. But when you are a 6'4" 200lb. Junior who has a 70% completion rate and 25-3 TD to INT ratio they'll want to get a closer look. He also has around 15 Touchdowns on the ground if what I read elsewhere is correct.

I'm not saying he'll end up here, but with the tools he has, he'll end up D1 somewhere with a solid summer circuit. He might be further along than Zac Dysert was his Junior season.

Mitchell will be at the game tomorrow evening. I doubt he would have gotten an invite unless there was some interest. I would enjoy seeing some film on him.

Never said he was a DI player, just not sure about here...Dysert went to Miami (OH) not BCS school...Obviously people will take look, but my point was that numbers don't tell the whole story...

As for him being here tomorrow night meaning they must be interested, well obviously but lots of juniors get invites to games, that wont be sniffing offers from here...

Ada heads into postseason with victory over LCC

October 25, 2008 - 12:12AM
Jeremy Schneider

ADA - For three seasons, the biggest knock on the Ada football has been two things: The Bulldogs can't stop a smash-mouth offense, and the offense can't win late in the season in messy conditions.
Consider both of those checked off the list.

.....

Mitchell Faine had time to throw most of the night, completing 24 of 33 passes for 253 yards and three scores. He also led Ada with 68 rushing yards and the other Ada score.

.....

Dysert also had offers from 4 different BCS schools. Michigan State, Pitt, Kansas and another that escapes me. Just because he chose Miami over these schools doesn't mean the offers weren't there.

Miller, Faine, Fell top NWC honorees - The Delphos Herald

Quote:
Northwest Conference football coaches met Monday night in Delphos and selected Mitchell Faine of Ada as Back Of The Year, Stuart Miller of Jefferson as Lineman Of The Year and Mike Fell of Ada as Coach Of The Year for the 2008 season.

Faine, a 6-4, 195-pound junior, quarterbacked the Bulldogs to a perfect 10-0 record and became the third straight Ada player to earn BOY honors in the NWC (Zac Dysert, 2006, 2007). He completed 71 percent of his passes, threw for 2,950 yards and 28 touchdowns and was intercepted only four times. He also rushed for 507 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Ada strikes quickly, buries Hilltop

ADA - Most teams in the area are familiar with the quick pace the Ada offense trots at, but it can catch some ill-prepared teams off guard. So, when that happens, the Bulldogs actually pick up the pace a bit.
As Ada coach Mike Fell said, "There's fast, and then there's faster."
Showing its accelerated side Friday in a Division VI football regional quarterfinal against an overmatch Hilltop squad, the Bulldogs scored on eight consecutive possessions to crush the Cadets, 56-8.

On offense, the Bulldogs operated with video game-like efficiency. Faine completed 23 of 30 passes for 375 yards and five touchdowns.

Both teams score points easily (Ada averages 42 to P-G's 33.1) with multifaceted quarterbacks (Mitchell Faine of Ada and Sam Maag of P-G) and underrated running games. Both teams can play defense; Ada gives up 10.7 points while P-G yields 14.8.

Faine has completed 237 of 332 passes for 3,329 yards and 33 touchdowns, with only four interceptions. Four receivers - Kyle Baker, Heath Jackson, Alex Weber and Colby Dysert - have caught 191 passes for 2,706 yards and 30 scores.

Faine also leads the Bulldogs with 559 rushing yards and 14 TDs.
