My Take: Tai-ler reminded me immediately of Gonzo but that wasn't exactly it...more like a young Desmond Howard with the strides, lean, and shoulder shifts. Smooth, explosive, dangerous in space and able to create space. Keeps his cleats in the turf with the shorter, quick strides..love the confidence in his hands.

Coach Haynes was blown away when he watched Tai-ler's film and offered immediately. Tai-ler holds a 3.6 GPA and will look at all schools throughout the summer before focusing his list.

Not sure if it's the same as grad's (I don't have scout) but it's only one game. However, you can see Jones is special...what stuck out to me is he well he uses his hands to catch the ball and how he goes after the ball. I didn't really get to see how fast he was in these clips but he is definetly quick and can make you miss. Only weakness I saw was he rounded off an out-route...big deal, the kids a player. Reminded me a lot of '08 commit Chris Fields. Hopefully Keith can help us out here.

I think Keith can really get some PT next year at DE behind Gibson, possibly even in the 2-deep depending on here Rose gets most of his time. I am sure Tressel will have him host Tai-ler too on his visit (he seems to have hosts from the same city, and the same HS would be even better), so if Keith is happy then it will only help in courting Tai-ler. Plus, with his dad having spent his earlier playing days at Notre Dame, and Keith's coach having a QUALITY outlook of our staff and program, you can't help but get excited about our chances with him.

He is a PLAYER. Whether at WR or DB, doesn't matter. I was wondering when we were going to get in on him after looking through the database a while back and seeing he was from Keith's hish school. I was ecstatic to see an offer. He definitely looks like a Gonzo-esque tpe of WR, as Grad said in the first post/film review.

I agree BGriff...I forgot to say that I liked him better at DB in the clips that I saw. He is an enforcer and closes on the ball quickly.

Georgia Tech?s Paul Johnson visits Gainesville WR

One day after visiting commit Will Jackson of Farragut High in Knoxville, Tenn. and prospect Nolan MacMillan of The Hun School in Princeton, N.J., Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson turned his focus toward the 2010 recruiting class when he dropped in on Gainesville junior receiver Tailer Jones earlier today.
?Coach Johnson seems like a great guy,? said Jones, who holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, Ole Miss, North Carolina, N.C. State, Ohio State, South Carolina and West Virginia.
?He comes across as real low key with no hype. He doesn?t try to overexert himself. He acts like he is.?
Johnson was joined by assistant coach Jeff Monken.
?They talked about Georgia Tech being a great school and how a degree from there is one of the best you can get,? Jones said.
?They also talked about how they?re able to compete with some of the best teams in the ACC.?
The short meeting included a brief discussion on the Jan. 31 junior day itinerary at Georgia Tech.
?Coach Johnson just kind of gave me an outline on what will happen on junior day,? Jones said.
Jones plans to attend junior days at Notre Dame and Ohio State during the previous weekend.
?I have a lot of interest in Georgia Tech,? Jones said, when asked how he rates the Jackets.

Gainesville WR Jones to attend four upcoming junior days

Gainesville receiver Tail-er Jones is scheduled to participate in four junior days during the next three weekends.

Jones will visit Ohio State and Notre Dame on Jan. 24 and 25. His father, Andre Jones, played football for the Fighting Irish.

?It?s great to go somewhere where a family member is known so well and has a great reputation like my father does at Notre Dame,? he said.

Jones is debating which junior day he?ll attend on Jan. 31.

?I?m still trying to decide whether to go to Florida State or Georgia Tech that weekend,? he said.

He recently received an invitation to attend junior day at Texas on Feb. 8.

?I have a lot of interest in Texas,? he said. ?With them being a powerhouse school and the fact that they invited me says a lot about what I?ve been able to accomplish through hard work.?

Jones currently holds a dozen scholarship offers from programs such as Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, Ole Miss, Ohio State and South Carolina.

Notre Dame and Ohio State to visit Gainesville juniors

Several high-profile colleges plan to send coaches to Gainesville on Thursday to meet with Red Elephants junior receiver Tai-ler Jones.
Jones, who is scheduled to attend junior days at Notre Dame and Ohio State this weekend, will receive in-school visits from members of the Fighting Irish and Buckeyes? coaching staffs.
Auburn, North Carolina and South Carolina representatives also plan to spend time on Thursday with the 6-foot, 180-pound receiver.
