Ironic that either ND or OSU would be in the drivers seat for Hendrix if Montana had announced for one or the other and both schools, as well as the majority of their fans, would be satisfied.
We've heard that Montana was close to choosing OSU back in March. But the ND offer changed things. He didn't really want ND for a variety of reasons. Dane Crist being a red-shirt freshman among them while Pryor was going to have 2 years at most when got there and Locker even less. But the ND offer created some complications that sent him looking for a compromise choice. ND offered Hendrix later than OSU so that is a non-factor. |

I'm sorry to say, but it is fair criticism to say the staff made a mistake by putting all of its eggs in the Montana basket when JT hadn't even met the young man yet. While there's no difference in the timing of ND and OSU offers here, there could have been and that could have set OSU apart.
The staff earns its money and deserves great deference. But occasionally they make a mistake and its not unfair to point it out when they do. |

A lot of the recruiting process this year probably got a later start as a decision of Tress to spend his time and the coaches more with this very young team. Again it was a choice that was probably a wise one overall.
Most experts say it's a down year for QBs in general and with the top guys usually deciding early it creates a scramble for who's left. It is what it is. |

I live in SW Ohio and i got to Hendrix play this year, he definitely wont have the speed to scramble in college but hes a good passer, will have to wait to see how his Senior year folds. He was 4th in the GCL in passing threw 11 TD's and 8 picks behind a non existent running game.

That sounds just like Brady Quinn's recruitment. Hope it turns out in OSU's favor this time (although Troy did alright).

Small piece in the Cincinnati Enquirer. Looks like Hendrix is keeping a recruiting diary with them.

From Cincy Enquirer Diary linked above:
"As far as my recruiting, it's really been the same thing. I spoke with Ohio State coach Jim Tressel today around 9 a.m. He is really pushing me just like the other coaches are to make a decision soon. There aren't as many top-level quarterbacks out there right now who haven't committed. They don't want to put all their eggs in one basket and be caught without a QB in their recruiting class." did he commit or are you just inferring that based on Graham's commitment to OSU?
