I really wanted Hendrix at OSU but at least he is going to ND...at least I have a new Ohio QB to root for since Quinn has been gone. I really think he is going to be a talent at the next level.

Notre Dame adds Illinois field-general Tommy Rees

Quarterback Tommy Rees (Lake Forest, Ill.) has committed to sign with Notre Dame over Tennessee and Stanford, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports. Miami-OH, Bowling Green and Central Michigan also offered.

"My gut was telling me yeah, Notre Dame, I worked the hardest for that offer. I knew I wanted to go, but I had to take the time to think about it," he said.

"I loved the coaching staff, coach Powlus, coach Ianello, and obviously coach Weis. They've been great. The tradition there, I keep talking about that, but the football tradition there really lured me in, and the great academics has been a strong suit for my family, and emphasis for my parents, especially my mom, and you can't beat a Notre Dame degree."

Rees threw for 2,200 yards and 22 touchdowns last fall for Lake Forest.

A rivals piece after Montana's commitment mentioned that ND was looking to take two QBs, and that Graham was also a strong candidate for the second spot. It's a good thing Graham chose OSU because ND possibly would've taken him as well.

An interesting note that people are buzzing about right now...

If Jimmy Clausen doesn't come back next season, and Dayne Crist isn't back from his ACL injury (He just messed it up against Washington State last week, they're saying 9 months maybe more on recovery), Hendrix could end up starting the beginning of the season.

Moeller senior QB Andrew Hendrix (Notre Dame commit) has accepted to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Jan. 2 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The game is organized by Offense-Defense Sports, which is an instructional football organization, according to the official Web site.

Hendrix still committed to Notre Dame

Posted by mdyer November 19th, 2009, 2:58 pm Moeller senior QB Andrew Hendrix is still orally committed to Notre Dame, despite speculation about Irish coach Charlie Weis? future at the school.
Hendrix, who threw for 1,353 yards and eight touchdowns this season, made an oral commitment to Notre Dame this past summer.
"He is very nervous about the situation," Moeller coach John Rodenberg wrote in an e-mail this afternoon. "He is committed to Notre Dame as long as Charlie is the coach, but he follows each game and speaks to (quarterbacks) coach (Ron) Powlus on a regular basis."
Hendrix, who is 6-3 and 230 pounds, was one of the state?s most recruited players from the 2010 class. He also had offers that included Boston College, Miami (Fla.), Virginia, Tennessee, Wisconsin, UC and several others.

Would not be against taking a QB on the caliber of Hendrix. Thank god for having a backup like Bauserman but he's unlikely to become a starter. If Pryor progresses, there's a chance that he might be gone after next season. Braxton is a huge project. Graham is also a project who's already had some injury issues. Again, would not be against taking a top 15 QB at this point if available.

Agree with most of that, except saying Braxton is a huge project. He's a great prospect, and ya he'll have work to do but so does every other college football player.

As far as mechanics go, Braxton is more polished than most 5* QB's who are highly ranked based on pure athleticism. Some examples would be Pryor and Bridgewater.

Now that's not saying Braxton doesn't have some to work on, but that I don't see him as a "huge project".

With that said, you don't say no to a QB of Hendrix's talent imo.
