'10 FL WR Chris Dunkley

He was tremendous in this weekend's 7-on-7 tournament, along with teammate De'Joshua Johnson. Those two were almost unstoppable and helped Team Palm Beach win the tournament. Team Alabama came in second(lost something like 25-7 to TPB in the championship).

You all just dont understand how excited Dunkley is for this trip, he's over joyed....literally. Im like clam son. But he cant wait. I wish we had Tony Grimes with us as well, I love that kid, he's funny as heck.

Haha, so he's definately joining you guys for the trip? Man, gonna be a big weekend in Columbus. We had a nice group of Florida visitors last year with Berry, McGee, and Emilien, but this group of Joyner, Dunkley, Jones probably blows that group away.. You are talking the premiere cover corner in the country, one of the premiere receivers in the nation, and arguably the premiere pash rusher in the country..

Another outstanding looking prospect out of the state of Florida, getting a bit redundant isn't it Hopefully we have some excellent weather for the Spring game, and who knows if rr and scUM don't put it out of reach , maybe we can set a Spring game attendance record to show our visitors the love we have for our Buckeyes.

Berry really enjoyed himself up there, that visit was a wonderful trip for him.

It doesn't take long to figure out two things about Under Armour All-American receiver Chris Dunkley (Royal Palm Beach, Fla./Royal Palm Beach). First, he loves to compete. He's always looking forward to the next camp, combine or seven-on-seven. During a recent interview, before a reporter could begin his inquisition, Dunkley inquired about a national seven-on-seven tournament.

Second, he loves football. This is a player who stood attentively and soaked in every second of multiple practices during the 2009 Under Armour All-America game as an observer. Dunkley's mental composition as it relates to football is the norm in Palm Beach County, which along with Broward and Dade counties to the South forms the talent-rich South Florida recruiting area. Most players down there are wired a little differently than prospects from other parts of the country. There's just a mental toughness and commitment to the sport across the board that isn't always seen in players in other parts of the country. Still, Dunkley is a cut above even those in his area.

"I feel like I am the best wide receiver in the country right now," Dunkley said. "I feel that way when I am on the field. I am just very competitive. I have been playing football since I was little and I was just now working out, working on the little things. I work on the little things because when you take care of the little things, big things happen."

Royal Palm Beach head coach Darren Studstill played high school football at nearby Palm Beach Gardens. He played quarterback at West Virginia in the early 1990s and was in the NFL with the Jaguars and Cowboys. In other words, he knows a little something about football players and competitors. And make no mistake about it -- Dunkley is both.

"It's not a show," Studstill said. "He's like that. He competes every day. He will compete in everything he does. I have seen it. That's something as a coach that you can't teach. His upside is limitless."

Last season, Dunkley caught 40 passes for 595 yards and six touchdowns and was the Palm Beach County Offensive Player of the Year.

"I haven't seen a player like him come through Palm Beach County other than (current Arizona Cardinals and former Florida State star) Anquan Boldin (who played at Pahokee)," Studstill said. "Chris has all the intangibles and is a pleasure to coach. When he first came out here, I didn't know if he would live up to all the hype, but he is one that definitely lives up to the hype."

It's not just the mental side of the game that makes Dunkley great. The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder ran a confirmed 4.43 second 40-yard dash at the Orlando Under Armour Combine in January. He is slippery in the open field and has outstanding hands and Scouts Inc. says that he is one of the fastest receivers that the organization has scouted in the last few years.

Royal Palm Beach, Fla., is a village in western Palm Beach County. Royal Palm Beach High has produced several Division I prospects in recent years. Wisconsin running back Zach Brown and Wake Forest running back Brandon Pendergrass were part of the Class of 2007. Wide receiver Randy Richards signed with Florida Atlantic and linebacker Ernest Ferguson signed with Iowa State in the Class of 2008.

Dunkley is excited about being the first Under Armour All-American from the school.

"I am going to represent my city (in Orlando)," he said. "I feel that I could help to continue to put Royal Palm on the map. Maybe some of the kids here will look up to me and say that if Dunkley can do this, maybe I can, too."
