This guy has impressive measurables and a strong OSU connection. Noticed on his ESPN bio that he has run an 11.1 in the 100. Wonder if there is any chance he could possibly be looked at as a big safety?

The star position was the first thing I thought about as well...

Jermale Hines redux.
Honestly, after watching Nigel's film, he has become one of my most favorite recruits thus far. I like him more than Hagan at Safety. Now, that mainly has to do with me not seeing any of Chad's film, but also because Nigel's just looks incredibly good. Depending on which Safety spot Jamie Wood ends up at, or how Zach Domicone progresses, Nigel looks like a stud STAR/Strong Safety in the making to eventually take over for Hines when he graduates. I am praying for an offer. I think we'll get back to him after our camp this weekend to see how guys perform then, but I would have to imagine Nigel fits perfectly in our defense. |

Plays taller and a lot faster than listed measurables. Very difficult to outflank and reach this guy on the outside; he has a supreme blend of first-step quickness, acceleration and body length. Covers a ton of ground quickly in the short-area and displays smooth hips and good footwork needed to redirect and mirror in space. Takes direct angles without a lot of wasted motion. Excels as a vertical attacker and pass rusher. Anticipates the snap, flashes explosive get-off and can effectively dip and rip under the blocker's pads to get the edge. Closes with good burst on the quarterback and can deliver the high impact hit. Has naturally good bend and lean for a high-cut, rangier perimeter defender. Not just a speed and quickness 'backer, he exhibits good upper-body strength for his size at the point of attack separating and locking out blockers until he locates the ball. Does a good job stringing the run out to the sideline. Need to block him from the backside as well; shows very good range and backside chase speed. Tracks down ball carriers with his high motor and long wingspan; a good reach-and-grab backside tackler. Shows above average mobility in coverage and soundly reads the quarterback anticipating the pass. Our main question mark is his ability to read and react from normal linebacker depth and get through the wash. Slips and gets off blocks quickly but does show difficulty disengaging when reached by bigger blockers in the second level. Tackles and pursues high at times which could hinder his ability to breakdown sharply on quicker D-I skill players in space and avoid overrunning the cutback. Has benefited from a fast attacking defense and feel he would need to be employed in the same manner at the next level to continue to being productive and disruptive. Overall, Terrell may need some time to develop physically in a fulltime college weight training program and on the field from a fundamental standpoint but there is no questioning this kid has outstanding upside. Has great speed and explosiveness needed to become a disruptive perimeter defender at the next level and is definitely falling under the radar. ---- 1. I REALLY like this kid. I think he's a perfect fit for our system at the Star. 2. I'm praying for an offer and am especially please with his father's side of the family. ![]() 3. I'm scared for the futures of his opponents if he's playing taller and faster than his listed measurables..! Last edited by 612Buckeye; 06-24-2009 at 09:24 PM. Reason: Bad copy/paste skills |

Would academics be an issue for the staff? The GPA should be enough, especially if he can get it up to a 3.0 1st semester. But will a 19 on the ACT be sufficient or is he going to have to retake that before being accepted into OSU?
The dude definitely passes the look test, that's for sure. And as others have already stated, it would sure be nice to tap into Bama's school systems. Georgia has treated us well in recent years, let's see what we can do in Alabama. |
