Will Hagerup has double-digit scholarship offers from BCS schools. The camp had a very strong field of punters, but two stood out not only for their ability and size. Will Hagerup (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) was a prospect I had seen at a regional camp in the Wisconsin Dells. At that time, he was already holding 10 offers and by the time he arrived in Whitewater he had added three more. Hagerup is easy to spot: He is tall with a great frame and could really develop into a physically impressive kid with some time in a college weight program. Looking more like a tight end prospect, Hagerup's continued physical growth could strengthen his already strong leg and delivery. One of the things Hagerup -- who holds offers from programs like Florida, Purdue, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio State and Michigan -- said college coaches note that they like about him is his size. The sought-after punter did not come into the camp complacent. He finished second in the charting and battled until the end in the punt competition, proving why he is one of the top punting prospects in the 2010 class. Hagerup said a decision could be coming within the next month.

The more I read about this kid the more I want him in this class. We all know what the most important play in football is. His inclusion could be one less thing to worry about in the upcoming recruiting years.

Yikes, that's a punter? Looks like a tight end that got confused at practice. I won't lie, I'm jealous of Michigan's best player, Zoltan Mesko. Hopefully he's a Mesko size punter with Florida State's Graham Gano's skills.

Zoltan Mesko has had a solid career at Michigan, but his tenure as the Wolverines? punter end after this season. That will leave East Kentwood native Chris Berry as the only true punter on Michigan?s roster and Berry has no game experience entering this season.

As was the case with the placekicker position last year, U-M is looking to add a scholarship punter in their 2010 class and the focus has landed on Will Hagerup of Whitefish Bay, Wis. Rivals.com ranks Hagerup as the No. 4 kicker (placekicker and punters combined) in the country and renowned kicking coach Chris Sailer lists him as the No. 3 punter nationally.

?Will has as much potential as anyone in the country,? Sailer said. ?A big, tall, physical punter that has all the tools, (he) should be a great college punter.?

U-M feels equally as strong about Hagerup?s potential. He's the only punter the Wolverines have offered a scholarship to thus far. In a meeting with Rich Rodriguez earlier this summer, Hagerup recalls the U-M coach him ?you?re the one we want,? and telling him to be ready to see the field in his freshman year.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Hagerup has responded to Michigan?s overtures with mutual interest. U-M and Ohio State seem to be the teams at the top of his list and a decision is expected in September.

Will Hagerup (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) is the top punter in the Midwest. He has over a dozen scholarship offers including Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Alabama, Illinois and Tennessee.

Hagerup will likely select a college within the next month, and it appears he will likely select the Badgers, Buckeyes or Wolverines.

Hagerup's decision may impact punter John Lloyd (Cincinnati Hills, Ohio/Christian Academy).

"A lot of schools are waiting to see what happens with Will Hagerup," Lloyd said. "After he decides we will see what happens. I want to see what doors open."

Lloyd is hoping to land his first scholarship offer after Hagerup decides, if not before.

"Right now out of the schools I've visited and talked to, I'd say my top three are Florida, Vanderbilt and Illinois," Lloyd said. "I've been to those three schools. They've said they want to wait until the end of this month."

Many other schools have been in contact with Lloyd, including Miami, Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas and Ohio State.

Hagerup changes official visits - ESPN

Earlier this week, punter Will Hagerup (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) had official visits set for Michigan, Ohio State, Florida and Wisconsin in that order the first four weekends in September. However, he has made a change.

"We switched Wisconsin and Michigan," Hagerup said. "I'll visit Wisconsin Sept. 5 when they play Northern Illinois. I'll visit Michigan Sept. 26 when they play Indiana. We flipped them so it works out better for my schedule."

In between, Hagerup will visit Ohio State Sept. 12 when the Buckeyes play USC and Florida Sept. 19 when the Gators host Tennessee.

On Friday, Hagerup is making an unofficial visit to Wisconsin to watch the Badgers practice. However, he said he would not make a commitment on the visit because he wants to take his scheduled official visits.

"I would definitely like to decide after those visits," Hagerup said. "I won't need more than a week or two after my visits." When asked who would be at the top of his list, Hagerup said, "All four are great schools with great football programs. I really don't have a favorite. That's why I am taking the official visits. I could really see myself at any of the four."

Hagerup has scholarship offers from all four schools and has a more than offers. The other school he has not completely ruled out is Northwestern.
